PC, not just game, is completely locking up when I try to run EQ2

Whenever I try to run EQ2 my entire PC locks ups, this is the only game that this is happening with, I don't think it is over heating because I have a huge fan blowing cool air on an open PC and have checked for loose parts and wires but everything is fine, I've been on and off of EQ2 since 2k6 and this is the first time this has happened to me.
