Again i m having a problem after the patch. I will restate it. I first installed  the electronic version of the  game using the standardmethod. I logged in on a us server asked in ooc where and how i could play on storm and getting a answeri did what i was told. I then had to wait many hours since most of the game was downloaded again (mainly sound files that i don't use since i play without sound). At that point i found out that below Eq2 main directory the patcher created a subdirectory containing the french part of client. So i see 2 eq2 applications (1 in E2 one in Eq2/EQ_server_FR) 2 patchers. Each time there is a patch i run into problems, maily the french client won't be patched.I tried using the 2 patchers, launching the 2 applications and did force a full file check.  I launched them with root permissions.Currently  i can only log on english servers, attempt to log on storm all lead to a missmatch between client and server. So could  you actually solve that problem,  correct YOUR BUGor tell me what to do.Do you even have a dual language test instalation ? according to me NOsince what is happening there is fully deterministic.I was asked system information and stupid things like that, i know quite a bit in computer science and i can tell you that the problem is not there. The problem lies 1) either somewhere in the MESSY choices you did to support multilanguage.I understand that multi language support was probably added afterward and not part of the initialdesign, this explain the weird and unefficient current design. But the least wold be to make it work. 2) either in the error message, may be storm is not yet ready to work with patched clients but in that case ...i know that when servers are down we ge a login error message which in a sense prove how badly polished is Eq2.Well there is even a simpler solution, allow people to play on storm with the english client. At least that way they won't be asked to kill "wolf skins" instead of gathering 10 skin from "ashe wolves"and the moonfish you need in a recipe won't be found at the broker under the name sunfish... i know that the technical team is not liable at all for the countless translation errors, but mey be you could see if an english client can connect to a french server. If things have been designed properly the client server communication is language independant and it is probably possible.

Not quite sure how to solve your issue, but I wanted to mention that I know that the UK worlds update at a differenttime with the GU (usuaklkly the next day).  Perhaps so does the French Server? It might be why one game is updated but the other isnt....  Hopefully a techie can come in and figure this out for you!

Yes it does install a subdirectory to download the ~9Gb of data. The non US servers are generally patched a day behind. I believe everyone else will be getting LU#45 today. There is nothing we in technical support can do to get this fixed. It is the same game but uses different versions of the client.  I do apologize on the hassles that it gives you though.  You cannot have an English client run on a French server. You can always and have 2 versions of EQ2 installed, like the test server needs vs standard server. That way you have 2 executables, 1 for each region. I hope this answers your questions.

I cooled down, sorry for being a bit agressive, none in your team is liable for wrong intial design. And maintaining and patching a old game is probably very difficultsince you must endure all the design errors .. It worked after a while. Could you check 2 error messages. 1) Apparently when the server is down we may get a password/user mistakei got alarmed last time my server was down since i believed 1 mn that my account ad be stolen. 2) When there is some patch we may get a client version error while the french server is patched, instead of something like the server is being patched.
