<p>Second post in as many minutes...</p><p>Um I could login to the game fine earlier today, but now when I try to it accepts my username and password, the game starts but just before you normally would select your character where the big EVERQUEST II logo is, I get this error message;</p><p>"Login Rejected: The client's server does not match the administrator's. Please rerun the patcher."</p><p>So what does this mean and what do I do to fix it?</p><p>Thanks all!</p>

Most likely this problem: <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=417846" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Link</a>To answer your other question cross-topic:Seeing your chars, when the patcher starts has no meaning. This char list is created by your local files (based on your last log in). If you don't see them in the char selection, then they are prolly gone. You may contact CS, as they may restore them under certain circumstances.(If it had been just 6 month, your chances are high. They did at least one real character wipe already though earlier)

I had a similarish problem, it told me "Client version does not match the server version, please rerun the patcher" logging into EU, and the Update screen took 20seconds.  I reran the patcher twice, did a full file scan, and still it gave me the same message.I have just switched to US servers, and it seems to have kicked in the update, so fingers crossed, it might work when I swap back to EU.

<p>Today on Wednesday the server (Innovation) should be updated and I gets after which I EQ2 run lets only the reference that the Client version is not correct with us. And also completely Scan left, always the same several times continuous the Updater suppl.-smooth-eats. Servers are UP however the Patcher get themselves not the new data and one cannot thereby not the play start!</p><p>MfG Ryanthusar</p>

Just to report back, swapping to the US version seems to have worked, I logged into Antonia Bayle, logged out, and swapped back to EU, when you do this, it runs a normally quite short file check, but this time it seems to get the patcher to kick in properly....just a tip in case anyone else is having this problemEDIT:Scrap that....it still is giving the same message "Client version does not match the server version, please rerun the patcher" *goes off to find another fix for this*

Don't want to disappoint you, - but... I think you are right now just patching back to the GU 44 version. (May want to check <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=417853" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this topic</a>).

Malki

Sounds about right...just checked the Patch logs for both my EU and US login, and the US one shows a string of messages reading"<span style="font-size: 11pt;font-family: "Calibri","sans-serif";">[08:52:20] Patcher: --- File Discrepancy (Size) Confirmed.<span>  </span>File is incorrect version."It then lists the different versions and the ones on my system after the EU login attempt are all earlier version.</span>

<p>It ain't patching on DE-Servers, possibly all EU Servers. It just stays on EverQuest II (Apr 30 2008 11:37:00) USER OPTIMIZED: SOEBuild=4830L. I cannot find a way to bypass this since it is just not loading the new Build.</p><p>SOL with midnight on the Westcoast, no one in the office for another 9 hours and Europe just waking up. A day down the drain.....</p>

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't SoE get a chance to 'practice' how to patch servers yesterday when they put GU45 on the US servers?I mean lets be honest this is patch 45! how many 'practice' runs do you need?

Kitsune
05-14-2008, 06:11 AM
Well after the same error I did the USA patch and got into the game no problem, but when I switched back to an EU server, Splitpaw, it is now taking 7 HOURS to patch itself! I am wondering what the state of my game will be after all this mucking about. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I think there were additional problems with the server before the patch even hit us (EU server). I know on RE, all this past week, we've had mass crashes going on and yesterday people kept being unable to log in certain characters.

Considering I'm not even getting any patch to download, I think the issue may be more than just servers still being down.Has anyone actually downloaded an update today from the EU patcher? Is it actually on the patcher at all?Info would be nice please!

The notifications for servers being locked have been up since 9:20ish CET, but, it is annoying that just as the previous timeframe runs out, and in a lot of cases, about an hour after it runs out, they update it <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

My wife works for a software division of their company. When they run an update, people are supervising each step, watching databases and checking connections up to the point everything is working. But then they are professionals, earning money with it. SOE just earns money...

If you are stuck on receiving zone info have you done the usual reboot PC, power-cycle modem/router, re add EQ2.exe to your allowed lists on your firewall?

This was all last night when the foreign servers were down for their patch. It took an extremely long time to get the patch to us and after we got it the lag was horrid and no doubt some people still had logging in issues.

Yes i am still having problems on US, i get to the part before char select and get "Server buisy" message and can not even get to char select, i have had this problem since yesterday and has been going on for 12 hours at least.

Have you done the standard power cycle modem/router and re added eq2.exe to your firewalls allowed list?

Velimos_Darkheart

firewall yes, (power cycle modem/router, no idea what this is... ? so no)

TSR-TrevorG
05-14-2008, 09:58 PM
Power cycling, basically means unplugging the power to your modem (and router if you have one) waiting 20 seconds and then plugging the power back in.  If you have a router, wait till all of the modem lights are back (about a minute generally) and then plug the router power back in.
