I was hoping to be a Troll Shadowknight again after years in WoW and away from EQ.I was reading the forums - excited that we are a strong solo class. I don't see a list of spells/abilities, but the brawler forums confused me.Do Sks no longer have FD and invis? The Monk/Bruiser forums mentioned monks and bruisers being better because they have FD and invis (with racial for bruiser). Can this be that my EQ1 SK forgot to pass on his greatest skills ?Fear kiting is gone, can I at least not get into really stupid places with FD and invis? (I assume no clicky necklace for invis!)

SKs get no love in EQ2 unfortunately.

NO INVISIBILITY (except lvl30+ clickable totems like all classes can use 'em).

FEIGN DEATH recast timer is about 5 minutes without AA's. With AA's it's about 2,5 minutes. Which is totally dumb and nerfed compared to EQ1. (Any class can be tinkerer and tinkerers get FD item, so our FD is a waste)

SK aggro is the worst of all tank classes (including all fighter archetypes) in the high end. (say byebye to tank sweet EQ1 SK aggro).

Solo works great on SK though,

Grizlock wrote:
bruisers being better because they have FD and invis (with racial for bruiser).
do they mean that bruisers get invis from a racial trait? if so any iksar can do that.anywho I'm a troll SK (like eq1 =D ) and I dig it.Fein recasts in 5 minutes...but you can stay down as long as you want (ie get to full, or wait for fein to refresh untill you stand up for ease of re-feign). also you can cast fein death on an over-agroing clothie to save his life.Invis you can get from racials (iksar), and from totems. totems are dirt cheap and you can carry bags full of them (anyone know if they're going to get included in the potion stacking patch?) so I say invis isn't terribly much of an issue.

Ahh, well that sounds much better then. Not as powerful as we once were, but FD on Allakhazam implied it was group member and 24 second duration. That would be sad.

I feel bad for those who like the end game, I think I will be happy just exploring the world and soloing - joining a group for specific stuff only. WoW killed all desire to ever PvP or Raid in any game again. 2+ years on a specific raiding schedule and then the 'peer pressure' to PvP mindlessly in a BG (read as designated pvp area) sucked.

I loved my TSK in EQ and I had a blast with my Iksar Monk. Maybe I will make an Iksar Bruiser to compliment my TSK.

I get the impression we aren't the best in any given situation, but I don't want to group with min/maxers anyway. If I can tank or dps take me because I'm your friend and I will take you for the same reason. Not being wanted for raids is something I now see as a benefit. Raiders generally don't care who you are or what your situation is - so long as you fit the mold in the Raid leaders 'real time strategy game'.

I do wonder if Grizlok the Shaman could beat Grizlok the TSK.

If you're not interested in end game raiding, ignore the doom and gloom on these forums. SKs are one of the really nice solo classes, and with invis totems and FD they have most of the tools you'd want to go explore places on your own.

Ditto to Nole's post Griz. The doom and gloom in this forum is specific to endgame raiding (rightfully so). The class itself is exceptional at solo content and we can tank most all instances well enough. Enjoy !!
The first rank of feign in the twenties is 24 sec duration, but later levels it's 12 hours.

SK would appear to be a great class for what you are looking for. The class is a blast to play and has a lot of style as well. I have tried almost every class to various levels and have pushed 3 to endgame. SK is by far my fav still.

Welcome to the game

As an update for people starting out as well, I tried several other classes as my friends need isn't in the tank hybrid dept. Melee dps, caster dps, healer - all up to the 20's and nothing compares to my love of SK and I have decided friends let friends have fun no matter what SK for life.
