The current Balm line is useful for all mystics but will be entirely redundant if cure-consolidation happens. The suggested change appears to give the target a short term immunity to control spells of the type that has just been cured. This spell is therefore largely useless for all non-raiding mystics (in groups you normally cure a control spell, but there is little chance that any grp mob will reapply it in the next 10 seconds), and only marginally useful for Pawbuster and Venril Sathir ie the mystic has to have cured the previous control spell, but they aren't typically in the MT grp to see it, so are left with spamming or pot-luck.

This doesn't seem a fair exchange - remove the cure requirement, or make it a cure castable while stunned

At this point I have pretty much given up considering telling the Devs what a stupid change the consolidation is. It simply has too many variables this late in the game. It is impossible to test this properly due to the low population on /testcopy....just a BAD idea. As I can only test this in slightly heroic content and not on a raid I cant tell you how well it will work on a raid but I will tell you I am glad not a whole lot has changed in solo and duo/trio content. What I HAVE noticed is that a lot of times if I cure I am NOT getting the ward for the effect cured.

I made a number of posts already on this (specifically here) but due to lack of any other feedback it seemed to me that either maybe no one actually cared about the issue or everyone else just feels the same way that whatever is said falls on deaf ears. Either way it's disheartening to see the mystic community by in large so silent on a fairly significant change. I suppose we'll see what happens when it goes live.

The more i think about this, the more bugged i get

Of our 3 Ancient Teaching spells, 2 of them will now be junk - Slothiness always was useless and is worse now (low damage and a pointless mana drain), and Balm likely to be deleted from the spell bar unless SOE come up with some change.
