I'll be loading it onto my home PC tonight. Although Im debating about just delaying and reinstalling XP next week, as its been about 7 months since I last did it....

Well I am not 100% sure but I think SP3 is causing me an issue. Long story short since I installed it after I'm playing for awhile my client crashes with a pure vital function call. I don't know if the install of SP3 and this are related, but it started after I put SP3. Before SP3 I had every other update for Windows so the changes made were purely SP3 related. It has happend in different zones but after maybe an hour or so of play.

Sometimes the client just regular crashes now also. As I was typing this I had a pure vital error, logged in and 15 mins later got a straight crash. I can't say that these issues are related to Sp3 but they didn't happen before I installed it. I don't have a lot of background on whats going on right now either. I'll see if others get this issue for now I suppose.

I installed it last night, played a little Dragon Warrior while it installed, and then jumped on EQ2 for a few hours,so far..I'm ok.If you have issues, open a support ticket at https://help.station.sony.com/cgi-b...amp;p_redirect=Thanks!

I started having some crashes after updating to Win XP service pack 3. Previously, crashes would happen once in a very rare occasion. Now I"m getting them fairly regularly. Sometimes a dialog box with some sort of out of memory error will appear and then the game will shut down, and other times, the whole computer will power down and I have to reboot everything to get back in.

I just tried doing a Win XP system restore to a date before the service pack 3 upgrade. No crashes so far.

SP3 upgrade has been a non-event for our workplace network as well as my home EQ2 machine. No errors. No probs.

The only thing I've read for anyone that may be having problems is this.

SC

Apparently SP3 will re-enable your windows firewall. So if you had it disabled before hand, you will need to do so again.

Forgot about the firewall issue. Odd thing I did notice...on some of the PCs, startup programs that were disabled via 'msconfig' had been re-enabled after SP3. Basically everything in the startup tab was enabled, though several had been 'unchecked' previously. Just something else to double-check.

SC
