When I played WoW my favorite class was the Warlock. He not only killed his enemies, he drained away their life and their soul and gave them to me . I LOVE classes that not only kill their enemies, I want to screw them over in the process. I also want them to be good damage dealers and be able to solo. I don't care if it is a killing machine. Good DPS is fine.

I tried a necro first. I got him to 20. I am quite disappointed. It seems like I am mashing button after button, and the mob takes forever to die. I want my toon to have better killing power than what I have seen from him so far.

I was looking at the information available about a coercer. They apparently can take over a mob and use it as a pet. I also have read that the pet can unexpectedly turn on you. I don't know much else about this class.

I don't know anything much about a defiler.

So, what evil class screws over their opponent the most? Is there one I haven't thought of? My heart is absolutely not set on having a pet. I just want to be mean to my enemies and be able to kill with reasonable competency.

Thank you for your input in advance.

If frustrating your opponent is a plus for you and you've already ruled out Necro, I'd suggest Coercers, Illusionists, perhaps the bards and I second SK. If you pick a mage class the quality of your spells (Apprentice I, Adept I, Adept III, Master I) will greatly affect your success. Perhaps taking your necro spell shopping might end up making him a more viable choice.

The Enchanters (Coercer/Illusionist) have crowd control spells to prevent their targets from taking action. Both can use a pet for extra damage and have various buffs for themselves and others. My experience is mainly with Coercers. We get several reactive spells... basically they penalize the target for attempting to fight back. These are undergoing some changes at the moment so our strategies may be changing a bit soon, but we should also get some dps increases to go along with that. We charm mobs as pets rather than summoning them. This allows for customizing our pet choice to fit a given situation with the drawback of charm being breakable at random times. Spell quality greatly reduces this problem, but it cannot be eliminated. If you think you like that play style but don't want the risk, an illusionist may be more your speed.

Bards are scouts so they get stealth and track. They are a melee class, but they're also great buffers. Dirge leans more toward melee support while Troubadors are great mage support. IIRC they have some crowd control abilities so they may fit your requirements for messing with the opponent. Of course all scouts use stealth and positional attacks to stick it to their targets so you might try one of em on for size.

SK's are mage/tank hybrids. The magic they mix into their melee adds status effects and life drains/taps which might be appealing to you. Especially if you prefer to stand and fight rather than ducking & dodging.

A coercer does charm mobs... They are seeing a BIG improvement come GU 45 (possibly next week).A Warlock does some good damage and chains the mob. That could be seen as taunting.....*shrugs*Necro's steals life as well as the SK....
