My guild is planning our first RoK raid soon, and we've heard that Tomb of Thuuga is a good place to start, but I haven't been able to find much info on this zone anywhere. We're not a particularly experienced raiding guild so we like to read up as much as possible to prepare ourselves, and we're still trying to encourage as many of our T8 players to raid so it would help if this wasn't a complete disaster!

Is there an access quest for this zone? Anyone able to tell me what it is, and do all raid members have to do it? Nothing worse than turning up at a raid to find we can't get in lol.

What lvl's are the mobs in the zone? Not all our members are lvl 80, in fact some are still early T8 but would be good to know they wont get resisted constantly.

Any essentials that we should know? I'm sure that even if we can kill one or two names in there would give our guild a real boost and encourage more people to get involved.

Appreciate any help

I would probably practise in Protector's Realm until your guild can clear that 1/2 way (atleast, more pref.) I personally think Thuuga is harder then PR. *shrug*

The named in Thuuga is definiltey more difficult than the first 4-5 names in PR by a large margin. You should start your t8 raiding in PR first for sure.

Start with PR instead of Thuuga. You will wipe alot on trash in thuuga if your people aren't 80 due to AE stuns and fears. And there's only 1 named and it can be tricky. So, if you get through all of that and can't kill the named, you walk out of the zone with nothing but repair costs.

PR has 7 guaranteed drops if you clear it. The first 4 are essentially the same fight with a little difference in the special attack. Start with the one on the left as you zone in and work your way around the 4 until you get back to the zone in. The last one will probably give you the most trouble.

From that point, it gets trickier but you can get 3-4 drops before that. And if you can't kill the skellies in PR, then you're probably not ready for thuuga.

At least, that's my suggestion. Good luck either way.

Edit: Also, PR requires no trash before the named. So you walk in and start pulling named almost immediately.

Thuuga is easy if you have good dps in the raid. You will have an easier time with the first 4 named in PR though as long as you know how to handle AoEs. We did Thuuga first and it really didn't take us long to figure it out and then head to PR.

Agree with everyone, else start with PR, its a much more forgiving zone if you guys are not sure what your raid force will be like in T8

Yeah the masses are right.

PR is a bit easier, less frustrating, and better chance at more loot for your raid so quicker gearing up.

Thuuga is annoying more than anything and unless she has something on her loot table you really want, most don't go back there too much unless PR is locked out and they need somewhere to raid.

As everyone else said PR is your best bet to start raiding ROK. You should be able to handle atleast the first 4 skellies and they drop decent stuff. I believe thuuga only has 1 namer and some trash. The first 4 namers in PR are way easier then the 1 namer in Thuuga. Time and joust the AE's or have really good resists you can probably get doomcoil in there to. You can also try SoH you should be able to take the first 3 namers fairly easy and the trash can drop Exquisite chests in there as well.

Going to more or less repeat what everyone else suggests, do Protector's Realm as your intro raid. Without giving any spoilers, it does have a kind of cute "story" with it too so to speak..you'll see once you enter. Thugga isn't hard, but like others said there's one named. Like others have said PR has four I'm sure you can clear even if the last three "boss" encounters prove too tough on your first outing, so you'll accomplish more.

Either way, good luck and have fun!

The first two named (skip p'tasa to start with) in Shard of Hate are both easier then either PR or Thuuga. If your just getting into raiding do those first. Also something to think about is the Tier 7 raids the gear is not worth it anymore but you can go and get some practice. Having seen guilds try to get into raiding with a bunch of people who have zero experience and just dieing and building up experience debt and wasting money on armor repairs I would spend time getting together and working as a group now instead of trying to do it in either PR or Thuuga. It might be worth spending one night in PR though to see how you do before heading back to Tier 7.

Our RaidForce ist able to clear Protector's Realm with no problem. We tried Tomb of Thuuga and got really whacked by the trash. The stun and fear is really nasty.

I would also recommend to start with Tomb of Thuuga

If you are bent on starting raiding in RoK then do PR, but if your force is as inexpierenced as you say it woudl be betetr to do an EoF zoen or 2 to get teh feel of how groups need to work together and ineract with each other. This will also help you figure out what types on comunication is needed and with teh mobs being green cons at lvl 80 it will be much more forgiving to a starting raid force, I woudl suggest Free Thinkers Hideout as a good zone to start raiding. AS soon as you think you are a cohesive team then head to PR.

Protector:

1. Learn how to use ACT for AE Timers.

2. Know which Priest special spells to apply

3. use Teamspeak

4. Joust the AE's

5. have someone to mezz the adds

With these things, you should kill the first four easily.

Doomcoil is a matter of bringing resistence up, 9k+, and it's cake.

And yell daily on the lazy folk that they level up to level 80 ^^

Chars under Level 77 get roasted easily in Protectors. With people in "early" T8, you should do Freethinkers, Sanctum.

And, regulary complain about lazy people not leveling ^^

Raiding is endcontent, those not willing to work for it, are not worth taking with you.

Thanks for the tips guys, we've now decided to try PR for our first raid. We've got some experience with T7 raid zones which have gone pretty well, but if PR doesn't go as well as planned then we'll probably go back to T7 to work on our raiding some more.

I think that just planning to hit a T8 zone has encouraged some of our lower T8 members to get some levels quickly which is great

Wish us luck!

Have you guys tried Emerald Halls, a good test is to get to the 3rd floor. If you can get into 3rd floor then PR shouldn't be too bad. PR is alot more fun then thuuga even now for my guild that is hitting a wall with VS. We grumble under our breathe when we hear we're going to Thuuga eventhough it takes about 20 minutes to clear. Ugh! Something like 12 annoying trash mobs and one named......yuck. To make it worse, the loot table on the widow kinda sucks. We've seen the queen venomed gauntlets drop 6 times, 3 of those drops consecutive.
