I'm a Alchemist and the simple crafting stations are worthless. I was told that they used to be worth using. So I was thinking that the Developers could make it to where we could at least craft are greyed out and green recipes from the simple crafting stations as to still make buying the exclusive crafting station still worth the coin & SP, faction, etc, etc. . .

The Simple Crafting Station is pretty much kept in game for decoration purpose now.

Back when you can make App II, App III, and App IV they had crafting stations that can make items up to that level. With the removal of App II and App III they removed all the crafting stations except for Exquisite but some people wanted them for decoration so they added the Simple Crafting Stations back in.

The simple work bench is good for tinkering, since you don't need to make pristine items.

>>>But you would still want to make the pristine version since you get back more raw material than you would with the first stage.<<<Except for certain recipes involving rares, you usually only get back material that was cheap anyways (as far as I could tell). I levelled up a few days ago and bought pretty much everything off the broker. The simple work bench made things a lot easier, because it only has one progress bar to fill. It is impossible to fail a combine, even if you don't use the tradeskill arts, since there is plenty of "invisible" durability if the main durability bar runs out.If I need to do a pristine combine, then I either go outside and do it by the broker in SQ or use a portable workbench. The cost of a portable workbench charge will be negligible compared to the cost of the combine anyways.
