So no more charm spell?

<p>sorry but outsider looking in and like to know what to expect from groupmates.</p><p>So after the update, you all do not charm, but you get a permanent pet that you posess and kept until you zone?</p><p>sort of like the old Sorc in DAoC if anyone played that..   </p><p>Just wondering. thanks</p>

We are able to do both on test, but the permanent pet doesn't do as much damage as the charmed one. No where in the update notes does it say they are removing charm.

Because Possess Essence is an Ancient Teaching spell that was originally Possession. Just because we get a permanent pet doesn't mean he has to take away charm.

You don't get Possess Essence (formerly Possession) until 65.  On Test right now, it is a lesser version of charm, it doesn't break and, for a melee pet, has more hit points, but it does way less damage as a mage (about 1/3) but about the same as a melee (but without taunt).  So.. it will depend on what you need from a pet which one you take.
