Hi all! Purchased the game on Wednesday just a few days into my trial. Really having a ton of fun. But I've been googling and searching for info on how people are moving about. I saw low level ratongas and other races in Gorowyn last night but Im not sure how they are getting there.

I've been able to piece together some info from the wikis and google that there are a series of bells/ships/carpets but I cant find any one site that gives you the basics on what goes where. I really really want to start an Arassi, Iksar and Ratonga but the starting area for Sarnak is just so much better.

Any secrets you veterans can share?

Thanks!!

If you are going from Freeport, there is a carpet to sinking sands, from there I believe you can fly directly to timorous deep, then you jump off the docks to the right if you are facing the shore, and follow the cliffs round to the left, up a slope, the other side of which is the quest hub, gorowyn outpost. From Neriak, you go to the Wanderlust fair, take the carpet to Sinking sands, then do as above.EDIT: The above information may indicate that I have spent too much time on low level quests. I promise this is not the case, well, much, erm....*goes back to Darklight woods again*

He took the flying carpet route from Freeport over to Sinking Sands, then took the route from Sinking Sands to Gorowyn. It probably took him under 2 minutes to get from Freeport to TD.

Yay! Thanks!

Having made a slew of lv10's during my free trial, I can tell you that I would rather not start in Freeport or Qeynos But the quest rewards in Sarnak area, Timorous Deep, are so much nicer. I could get to lv9ish and probably make it to the fair area outside Neriak alive. There are some nasty caster mobs out there over the bridge.

I read just today that any evil aligned race is seen as indiffernt in Gorowyn so you can go in the city to craft, bank and train. Can anyone confirm this to be the case?

If so then my babies will be heading over that way as soon as they can get to the Fair.

Thanks again!

The sarnaks pretty much don't care about alignment or race. So you should be fine there no matter what the character. Only to buy houses there you need to be a citizen of Gorowyn and for that you need to be evil (either starting as one or betraying a good character to the evil side). No way around that. Also, just to clarify the posts above, once you get to the sinking sands, right click on the carpet and then choose Timorous Deep (or was it Gorowyn? Gah! My memory fails me) to reach your destination if you are evil. If you are good, then on Sinking Sands, right click on the carpet and choose Butcherblock Mountains and from there do as the above posters said.

As happens so often, one question leads to another but better to know these things early. If my Iksar wants to live in Gorowyn I WILL HAVE to betray the city correct? and then go to Gorowyn and somehow earn favor? I havent visited all the cities but I do like Gorowyn best so far, would much rather have my house there than Neriak. And as a new player, house choice is not to be taken lightly as it isnt exactly cheap.

But I need somewhere to put all my furniture that I cant seem to help making - YAY for a game with decent crafting.

Not really betray. If your character is evil all he have to do is change citizenship. He needs to be a citizen of Freeport first though.EQ2i has a nice step by step instruction on how to become a citizen of Gorowyn. If your character started in Neriak and you want him to move to Freeport or Gorowyn, then scroll up a little on that page and see the instructions to become a citizen of Freeport. You only have to really betray to live in Gorowyn if you have a good character. Then he would have to betray to Freeport first and then change citizenship to Gorowyn. And good to know you like the crafting.

Someone wants to actually live in gorowyn?!?! Why? The place is a major pain in the butt to get around and takes 3 times as long to do the same things in other cities due to getting around.

I wanted to give the new Timorous Deep starting area a try, so rolled a Gnome, with intention to do as above: take the carpet to Sinking Sands, then Sinking Sands to Timorous Deep. When I got there, I would dive off the docks and drown myself...that would revive me in the new area, ready to go.

When I got to character creation, though, TD was an available starting point...so I did just that, and didn't have to go through any of the above. If you roll a neutral or evil race...I think..? TD is a starting choice, and it doesn't have to be Sarnak.

Only neutral races and Sarnak can start there. Evil and good races can only start on the other usual areas.

Dinged level 2 from discovery xp just as I got to the level 1 quest givers. Gorowyn wouldn't let me use "services" like the bank or broker, but they didn't care that I was there and all quest givers would talk to me.

For goodies -- start Qeynos. Leave island without doing anything. This drops you in your racial district. Bell to QH. Carpet to SS. Carpet to BBM. Run up the beach (it's all non-aggro) to the Griffon to TD. It drops you on the Gorwyn docks. Then you just run or swim over to the starting area. Not a big deal at all. Just add the griff step to the FP method.
