For a bit of background: I used to play EQ2 until about a year ago. The system I use is the same and I changed nothing about it - no new drivers or anything. I recently decided to get back into EQ2 and bought Rise of Kunark a few days ago. After installing it and downloading the missing GUs, I could not play - 10 seconds to a minute after being in the character selection screen, my whole system rebooted. That never happened before with EoF.So, after updating all my drivers (using Driverclear between deinstalling the old one and installing a new one), running the Scan-utility from the launcher and playing with the graphic settings, the problem persisted. I then took an old 7300GS I had laying around and tried the gaming using that - it works like a charm. So the problem most likely is with either the 7600GS itself or the driver, and since other programs run kinda okay, I guess it's the driver. Is that a common problem that can easily be fixed (for example by using a specific version of the driver, which I read can help for other video cards)? Otherwise, what would be a good graphic card for EQ2? The game runs rather badly with the 7300GS - it's playable, but not really enjoyable, so I'd happily spend $100-150 on a new graphic card if that would significantly improve the graphics. I thought about the 8800GT, but I heard that has known issues with EQ2, too?
