Is there anything that determines what the petrified eye or brigand etc, shapechanges look like? Or is it completly random or pre-chosen for the perticular illusion?

How you made your character at the beginning is what normally determines what hair style you have to what color of eyes like for example lets say you pick the third hair style on the list then you shapechange into a different race assuming it's non animal type then you'll have the third hair style of that race on that race's list. The animal type races I am not sure how they are determined for they are little different but think it's pretty the same but not sure how.

I have noticed this also. I have a male Sarnak Guardian that I created at maximum size and found out he had to crawl through Stormhold. After that I picked up the dark elf and human petrified eyes. As a dark elf he looks cool. As a human he is bald with a horrid (but amusing) comb over. Its bad enough that in human form I keep his helmet on .

I have a dwarf and have the human eye. In human form he is actually a rather handsome fellow. I was suprised and now have him in human form most of the time.

Yep yep. Everything is pre-determined in the character creation process.

Since the main toon I always use an illusion with is a rat, I didn't notice a change when I gave him a full makover a long while back, I like him as a DE but he is horrid in original model so I use soga, where he looks nice, but he has to have his dirge pimphat on in case other people use original.

Recently someone's illusion had a different hair color, apparently for classes with hair you can change their hair color by getting a makover.

I feedback all the time to let us have a design screen for each race to change into.

Every slider has a number representation for the place that you select. These numbers apply to the same areas on different models as well. Some models don't have these options, so they will appear bald, or keep a "0" default value at the either top of the list or left of the slider. I think I remember a dev explaining it that way.
