while I understand that this may seem nifty and all, 6.5k hp ward isn't that good. Personally since coercers are all about power, and dealing with power drains, i'd rather have this a power drain ward. Given the nature of the names in SoH, i'd rather have a ward against power drains any day vs another ward that is at best of limite use. The mana ward would give me another very useful tool to deal with power drains. Also it is a mana ward, it would seem better to have it protect damage to mana, i.e. a mana drain.

Personally if you can't keep your groups power about 50% at all time, then your doing something wrong. Even with chain pulling trash in SoH, my group barely went below 50% power before I could get them all to 70-80%. I like this spell as it is on test now, it gives us more uses in solo, group, and its a last minute ward in raids. Right are your MT is about to die you could toss this up to save him.

There really isnt many encounters that drain mana, and this spell doesnt protect from those encounters that do making this ability useless. I tested manaward and I think it will be a great edition to our spellline. The ward will be around 6-7k depending on mana and we will have to sacrifice all our mana to do that. It has a 5 minute cooldown. I think' its a pretty nice ability to have when your tank is getting a little close to that threshhold of dying and your healers just need a few seconds to bring him up. It will definately be useful.

In it's current state it has SOME use. As a ward vs mana drain it had no use. Ever. But i agree that the coefficient of warding for point of power spent should be 1:1. And yeah as a real hp ward it has real use in pvp.

well i doubt i'd use it as it its written. Most of the time, 6.5k, when the mobs are hitting for 7 to 10k, seems kinda pointless. In a grouping sitution it might be helpful. In raid zone like vp, I would use tash over it in an instance, because that line will help the mob die faster, and if the tank gets to 5%, the next hit is normally gonna waste him. I'd rather throw a stun. It seems to help more. The other part, is that if i wanted to cast real wards, i'd have rolled a shaman. It just seems weird for a mage to be casting health wards. A 6k power drain ward, would be as useful to me as a health one would be, but more appropriate for a coercer. Yes manaward does that in its current form, but 400pts isn't very much, while a 6k one would give about 1000pts of power across the board. It would still be useful for it to operate like existing manaward, given that you dont know when the power drain will go off.
