I have 3 questions:

1. I can't seem to keep my keyboard settings. For example, under the options menu, I change the movement keys to s, d, f, e from the original a, s, d, w. Then I play for a few minutes and the game changes the keys back to the original a, s, d, w. I also lose the settings when I log the character into the game.

2. How do I save my keyboard settings so that I can load them up on a new character?

3. How do I change the text on my hotbar spell icons so they do not read "<NUMPAD 1>" (which doesn't fit on the icon), and instead show "NP1"?

Thanks for your help!

Hi StarlinaI have only had this problem when the game first came out, or when making an alt on another server. There is a great post already on this here http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...833
"The first issue is a well known issue for the past several months, although it hasn't been officially acknowledged yet by SOE so we don't know for certain as to when or even if it will ever be addressed. However, in the meantime try the following, which might not completely resolve your issue if you are using an international keyboard setup:

1. Log on and set your custom keybinds as desired.
2. Save your keybinds by typing /save_keymaps eq2_keymap_custom.ini

3. From within the Options menu select Other from the Keyboard Layout drop-down list.

4. Log off EQ2

5. Inside the Layout directory make a copy of the EQ2-OtherMode.cfg file and rename it to EQ2-CustomMode.cfg

6. Edit this new CFG file so that it reads as:

name=Custom

options=

uisettings=

colors=

keymaps=eq2_keymap_custom.ini
7. Edit the eq2_recent.ini file so that the following line is changed
from: cl_configuration_file EQ2-OtherMode.cfg

to: cl_configuration_file EQ2-CustomMode.cfg

8. Log on and from within the Options menu select Custom from the Keyboard Layout drop-down list.

9. Confirm that the keybinds are working as desired.

10. Log off and reboot your computer.

11. Log back on and confirm that the keybinds are still working as desired.
NOTE: Make sure that once any files are saved that the software used to save them doesn't add a ".txt" extension to the end as this will cause the entire process to fail outright."**Thanks Fringe***
As for changing the text on the hotbuttons, I do not believe that is possible, as I have not seen that before without going to http://eq2interface.com and downloading some other UI features.
