Topic is pretty much the question, I didn't have a problem with it until the latest update. Getting the "program stopped working" box. =/

i had the same issue when i first went to play on the test copy server. Here is what i did to correct it.Browse to the location of my test server data, in my case was c:program filessonyeverquest iiTestServerdouble click on the following folders and deleted the contents cache logincache logincache-usI also deleted the eq2.ini but i had copied my eq2 folder over to speed the process up of downloading.I've had the crashes before and clearing the cache folders normally helped, I had custom UI installed for Live was the only reason i removed the eq2.ini, but i did all that at once so i can't say what corrected the problemZantanium80 CoercerHouse of CardsCrushbone

Tried it all.... updateing vid card, full file scan, deleting the cache files and eq2.ini

Nuhus wrote:
Tried it all.... updateing vid card, full file scan, deleting the cache files and eq2.ini
Same. There appears to be a problem with the Launcher itself for some people. My husband and I are both having problems with it.

My problem is with the launcher itself crashing also. Immediately after starting I get a box: "EQ2 Client Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

OK, in trying absolutely everything to get the darn thing to work, my husband disabled my anti-virus (AVG, if that makes a difference), re-downloaded the launcher, and I now seem to be successfully patching the GU. So if nothing else is working for you, you might try that.

I can't start a new thread in this forum for some reason, but Tech Support asked me to post the crash log here:For clarification this is the crash that started immediately after patching to the latest version of the test client.
I have been trying for three days to get the 'test server' version to work on my computer. I did all the things stated on the Forum FAQ, all three times. Did a wipe and roll back and restart and everthing else in the word I can think of .. and more. And the dern thing still wont work. I play in the reg game on Mistmore server. When I try to load the test server, it says cant find Mistmore then says a screen pops up that says I need to log in again and I use the same login and password and it tells me it is not correct and dumps me out. What the heck? Help me please. My friends and I want to be able to test the changes that are coming up before they hit the live servers. Please help...
