I have looked around some but have not found a definative answer on what happens to you crafting epic items/quests if you choose to reset your class. For the last 3 years I have been a dwarven paladin/armorer in the game and when transmuting was available i added that to my character. When the tradeskill epics were available, i went thru the quest line and picked up my title of Master Armorer, Earring, cloak and did the associated quests for it. After looking at the crafters we have in my guild. I have been toying around with the idea of resetting my class to one that nobody wants to level up much: Weaponsmith. I understand if i reset my crafting profession, all my armorer specific recipes are stripped away and i drop down to level 9 profession. This would not affect my transmuting as it can go by adventurer or crafting level to skill by. I would lose the deathfist recipes but retain the heritage type ones like manastone and such. What happens to the tradeskill epic stuff like the cloak, title, earring, and the unique recipe that i could make like the smithy hammer? Does just the smithy hammer recipe become deleted and if so can I(if i was crazy enough), do the armorer epic again to get the recipe back if i don't like weaponsmith?I realize i could roll a alt and make a different crafter, but they did put the crafter reset option in and i would like to try it if it doesnt mess up the tradeskill epic quest. I was wondering also if it remoced the tradeskill epic quests from my completion if i reset my crafter and if not if it allowed the new profession all the quests to completed(maybe repeatable or something)? If you need more info i am happy to provide it, it has been something i have been toying with the idea on, but i did not want to jeopardize the crafting epic if i reset and couldnt do the new one because of some flagging issue or go back to the original if i didnt like the profession...

The Earring is wearable by all crafters, and says such in the description. However you must be a lvl 80 crafter to where it. The Cloak is Crafting Profession specific (woah! say that 3 x fast! ) so will most likely work just as if you Betrayed from Freeport to Qeynos. You'll still have the item, but it will be placed into your inventory.

As for redoing the epic quest once your 80 in Weaponsmithing...that'll be something you will have to /feedback

Profession Specific Profession Specific Profession Specific....Bah, I can't even TYPE it three times fast.Good question. I know Domino made a mechanic for turning in your Village of Shin crafting tool, maybe she'll consider that for the quest, too.

Now try it as ~ Crafting Profession specific

Anyways...i re-read what I said, and felt I should reply and make it read a bit clearer as to make some sense....yah

um...

Both the earring and the cloak will go to your inventory, since you no longer be able to wear either. Once your lvl 80 in your new profession, you will have to ask the Domino on being able to trade out your current epics for the new epics for your craft.

Reset a level 80 tradeskiller! The thought makes me shiver. Believe me, there is no big deal to resetting your character. I reset one of mine when I went from carpenter to armorer on her. There was no great fun in doing so. Heck. If you need to experience, roll a new char. Level it up to 10 or 12 and reset that one. But don't reset a level 80. I can't bare the thought. If you do it, do it now while I have my eyes shut and my hands over my ears.

OMG going from it was a pain just to talk about it to OMG even worse.

Tsk tsk, posted the answer to this back in February, right here ... That said, QA tested it out but I don't know of anybody who's actually DONE it on live servers, so you might be the live server guinea pig if you go ahead!

I think Quester has done it so ask him

I say "think" as every time i run into him in a new town he is a different tradeskill profession grinding away...so i would say ask the master, ie ask Quester!

Darda

Permafrost

Wow, are you sure you want to do this? Reset a level 80 crafter with epic and everything back to level 9?

Did not realize going back to the person in Rivervale would get me back onto the epic quest so I could get my new cloak. Looks like I know what I am going to be doing this afternoon.
