I'm fairly new to EQ2...about 5 weeks or so and I'm reading a LOT of varied opinions. Right now I am level 42 with 44 AA's under my belt. I have them currently set as such: 6 4 4 8 1 STR and 5 5 5 4 in the Tricks line. My current reasoning for the tricks line is I read that they help when taking down heroic mobs. I don't have too many issues solo'ing. <div></div><div>My stats are as follows: STR: 153 AGI: 185 STA: 127 INT: 71 WIS: 60</div><div></div><div>I've read that INT helps in DPS. Have I screwed up by taking too many things with +AGI? Should I finish off the tricks line and start down the INT line? I like having Perfectionist for a much faster Blade strike, but is my thinking correct on keeping it for the reduced reset time? </div>

I also have put some AAs in my stun, stifle and root for pvp reasons. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Is the tricks line more beneficial than taking the INT line....at this level? Besides the added cheap shot duration, I have trouble understanding the full benefits on the tricks line. For example, what exactly does stifle do to the mob?

Stifle prevents an enemy from casting any spells or combat arts restricting it to just auto attacking for the duration of the stifle. At your level the int line probably is not that important, its primary use is to help with DPS, but when the main focus is on leveling survivability is a much higher consideration. The tricks line is pretty decent for leveling purposes, especially where soloing is concerned. Better cheap shot, better root etc all help with either killing the mob or getting away if necessary.

If your doing pvp or solo/small grp content then trick line imo is essential. If your going about in a full grp or raiding, then not so much. As for agi, well most folk go str/int, as the starters for pve, but I know at least 2 very high parsing zines who swear by the agi line, maxing it and str out first, and then putting some into int. Personally, I'm not the type of player who gets into the nittygritty of the numbers, but my feeling is that the difference between the lines is incrimental rather then critical. So I dont think you can ever truly screw up a toon with aa picks.

<p>I am an assassin that swears by the agility line. I used to be the cookie cutter Str/Int, but on a whim and some one's suggestion i respeced and tried the agility line. Im 8-6-8-0-1 agi. This goes VERY well with repeated Stabbings, as now my global recovery is halved (to an almost non-existant point) and every thing i cast is reduced by 1/3rd. Now i know our CA's arnt very long cast timers as it is, but when i have the ability to run through all my aa's in the time it takes most other classes to get off maybe 4 attacks, its amazing. Makes soloing an absolute breeze, and has made me the top undisputed parse in my normal group (Instead of struggling with a VERY good swashy)</p><p>So for Pred im... iirc8 8 4 0 07 6 4 0 08 8 7 0 08 0 0 0 01 1 0 0 0</p><p>And assassin i went down tricks till Repeated Stabbings, and am now going down Bleeding till excessive bleeding and will be going down poisons last.</p>
