View Full Version : New assassin looking for AA advice...

Not another AA question

So I capped out my dps speced bruiser and umm he's err not quite top dog dps wise. So I rolled an Iksar assassin and I'm loving the kaboom factor but... AA has me scratching my head.

I realise overtime I'll come to see a pattern and what our big guns are but the respec card only has 5 freebies and lesson learned on my bruiser is plat is better spent on weapons than respecs.

So from the get go what am I shooting for AA wise for a solo/dps role and in what order. Feel free to eat respecs along the way if it will ease growing pains. Ie run down this line until X then respec to Y and shoot down Z type of thing. Thanks.

drop a fwe aas into your cheap shot to make it easier to backstab ^ mobs, then go down int, then str. after that, its pretty much anything you think look sexy

Go down the predator tree first.Strength, aim to get to the crits and max it out, then get perfectionist. Then go down INT and max spell crits and intoxication for now.Stick spare points in STR stat.By that point you should have a decent idea of what you use most for the Enhance AA's on the assassin tree.I recommend Enhance Cheap Shot, Jugular Slice (the stifle stealth attack), Velium Strike (the root) and Stealth Assault (the aoe DoT), all help with soloing as you level up.Then get Squeeze (the defence and trauma debuff), Disfiguring Strike (the big defence debuff) and Sinister Strike, then get Repeated Stabbing. As you get more AA's throw them at Honed Reflexes, Exacting, Hemotoxin, and Apply Toxins (your apply poison to ally buff). Then, once you hit 70 head back to the Predator tree and go down AGI to get crits, recommend a respec here to swap Poise in for Intoxication. Then, once you've done that you have 20 points to throw at the Assassin tree, these don't matter much really, and you really should have a good idea of what you'd prefer.

Thanks guys, anyone else?
