I've been getting what sounds like the Windows Critical Stop "ding" whenever my toons are in combat, and I get a couple just as combat completes. Getting no errors or error messags outside of EQ2 client (run in windowed mode).

I think this may be related to ACT. I downloaded this out of curiosity about parsing my own events. Not really sure how to use it. But these sounds seem to have started occurring all around combat, so I wasn't sure if there is some kind of 'real-time' aspect of the software that I don't know about. I am running on a clean boot of the PC and not running ACT (AFAIK) unless it starts automatically with EQ2 start or something.

Maybe it's not related and possibly something else? Just due to it occurring in/around combat I assumed they were related.

I appreciate any help.

SC

ACT has a Spell Timer feature that tells you when a mob casts a spell. The default sound for this the Windows Critical Stop sound and you will hear it usually when the spell begins and ends.

ACT does not usually start with EQ2 unless you have intentionally have set it that way. Hope this helps.

Here is a link for ya! Click here
