<p>Well, after 1 week of having no problems at all, the login is rejecting me again.  I've already sent a TSR a PM but i just wanted to let people know that the problem is reoccurring.</p><p>**edit** just to clarify i'm logging in from Seoul, South Korea</p>

Yep i live in Korea and we are having the same problems again as well.  Sony is blanket blocking IP ranges on one of their IDS or Firewalls.  After a week of them blowing smoke up my butt about it being my ISP and me having my ISP change my modem and all my connections and check their network for blocked game ports in the 7000 range they told me I was nuts.  Then I come to find out that SONY was the one blocking me and a TSR fixed it for us all.  But after 2 weeks its back again.  NOONE not one single sole at Sony's CS will admit to a dang thing.  They just keep blaming the ISP even to people who know it is Sony's problem.  SONY You have integrity issues.

Yea, so I'm basically fed up with SOE for doing this to all of its users. I finally got my wife wanting to play so I went and bought a new computer so we could both play, I'm stationed in South Korea with the US Army. So I try to login and it wouldn't let me at first. So I got on the chat and they told me they had blocked my wifes new account cause it said she is from Thailand. Talking about racist.  So they unblocked it when I told them she's my freakin wife. Now they have blocked my IP and we can't log on at all, I went through a whole day of troubleshooting, even forking out another 200 bucks cause I thought it was the video card. Sony had screwed me out of my weekend and I want my money back for the last 2 weeks I couldn't play cause they want to be idiots. SONY Thanks for ruining my weekend and making my wife not even want to bother with online games!Btw if you really want to play, you can connect to online VPN and it doesn't block the eq2 connection. It's a short term fix, but it works.

We were able to log in today however it took 3 or 4 min for what I typed in guild chat to come up on her screen and she is 5 feet from me.  So we were deffinatly experiancing some lag.  Heard back for the reps at SOE and did everything they asked and sent the info that they asked for and its still not fixed.  On top of it all now when I try to log in it goes right to char select no mater what I choose and tells me that connection to server was lost and is asking me to make a new char but will only let me exit not do anything else.  We do not use the station launcher thing we just use the regulare short cut provided in the game.  Could this possably be part of the problem I dont remember ever seeing that it was required to use but if that is the problem I will more than happly install on both comps.

<p>Where was the power outage?  Also unless it was where ever the EQ2 server is why would that effect only EQ2 for those of us over this way.  I play several other games and have no problems with them.  Also if it was something as simple as a power outage I would think that it would have been fixed by now more than 72 hours later.  I did receive conformation that several ISP's over this way haver been blocked and if we are found clean our accounts will be reconnected yet again I ask whats the hold up as it has been 72 hours and I have been in contact with SOE reps threw the e-mail support section and eliminated my comp as the problem.  I know allot of questions there any help that the reps can give I greatly appriciate and thank you for you assisstance.</p>

<p>I am in southern California All day Saturday and half of Sunday I would get to caching appearance and it would crash to desktop with no error what so ever. I contacted Soe to hear the usual Isp, driver, etc. problem. If this is the case why are they admitting to blocking Ip's and why was I able to play last night for 5 hours, today I was bale to log on at 5pm, I logged off at 5:30pm PST and went to log on again at 9:30PST and the login problems were there once again, it is now 12:20PST I am still unable to log on. This is not only happening on EQ2 it is with all the Sony games.  If I try to log on Star wars galaxies it acts the same, it gets to loading terrain and bang same thing.  Any other online MMO works just fine in the household. </p><p>Evidently this has been going on since April 7th. When you are able to log on, just ask in the chat channels you will see how many people are experiencing the same problem. It is ridiculous that we are getting blown off, while we pay for a service every month without fail. I would hope that Sony takes a more mature stance than Blizzard did at the onset of their game problems a few years back. </p><p> I have played Sony games for over 5 years Starting with EQ1 and have never seen such absurd customer service.  What does it take to fix this problem, you have paying customers that expect a service to be provided to them.  If we were to all of a sudden stop paying when ever we had problems would you provide the game to us NO, I don't think so, why don't you show the same respect and fix your service issues without passing the buck any more.</p><p> Rest assured many of us are experiencing this problem.  Sony just needs to address it and fix it once and for all.  I am not sure how much more time they can buy, while telling us it is our ISP or our drivers, yes for some people that maye be another issue, but for the majority of us that are experiencing an identical issue that are spread out all over the world, I think it would be stupid to assume all of us are having ISP issues or driver issues  or corrupted file issues.</p><p>C'mon Sony show some integrity with your customer base.</p>

<p>Now that I find interesting.  I was under the impression that this was localized to the customers in the far east.  If it is effecting players world wide as I am gathering then I would guess that it has to do with the last patch/update that occured on Sat for me would have been Fri for those in the states if I remember correctly or it could have been the last numbered update that went out.  If it is effecting all SOE games as stated in the above post well this seems to be a major issue that should warrent a ""posted notice"" of some sort.  I agree that we are paying for a service and if that service is not provided there is a problem.  I can tell you right now the CEO of SOE is payng someone to clean his pool or some other task that he does not wish to do himself and if his pool was not cleaned for 72 hours now going on 96 I am pretty sure the company that he pays or person he pays would be looking at some sort of penalty be it lose of the contract or at a minimum doing the work for free.  Now I am not asking for any free stuff I just want to bea able to play the game again.  I am on vacation atm and getting in some time on EQ2 was on the list of things to do and well in the last 4 days I have missed prolly 6 hours a day of play time at a minimum in which I was was going to dedicate to finding a few items that I have asked for some help in finding on this thread <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=416393" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=416393</a> .  Anyway enough of my ranting like I said if it is as big a problem as it seems I would think that SOE would send out a notice or something, SOE being a responsable company and all</p>

Well here we go again.  It's now 17:00 Korea Standard time on tuesday and once again I cannot log in to EQ2.  Same exact problem as I have had the last 2 times.  I did some reading through the posts on this forum thread and the one thing I find completely ludicrous is that SONY would be arrogant and stupid enough to advocate that <span style="font-size: small;">USERS NOT USE A FIREWALL?  </span><span style="font-size: x-small;">Have you people completely lost your mind.  I have been using a FIREWALL for all the time I have been playing Sony Games which incluse all of Everquest from Beta Phase 4 and all of commercial Star Wars and Everquest 2.  Are you suggesting that something has changed in my firewall that makes your <ahem> product not function correctly suddenly.  That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard.  I have been a Senior Systems Engineer for nearly 15 years and in Data Communications for 24+ years.  Had I ever treated one of my customers the way you are treating these people I would have been FIRED INSTANTLY....  HOW is it that you can possibly advocate to your users not to use a firewall in today's day and age of the internet.  You are setting every person in your user base up for some potentially disastrous things to happen.  Not the least of which is identity theft.  ARE YOU SERIOUSLY SERIOUSLY SAYING THAT WE SHOULD NOT USE A FIREWALL?  i would like to hear that officially from your site so I can turn mine off on your advice (which by the way will not fix this problem.  Then I can sue you for setting me up for identity theft but giving bad faith advice to a user of your network because you cannot solve your own firewall problems internally.  Not everyone out here is completly ignorant of network design and methodology.  In fact I am sure there are people playing your game who have many more years experience then you all do.  If your programs is scanning through UDP ports on a frequent basis then you have written a crap product that is showing up like a Virus pattern or Milicious activity to everyones firewalls or Routers.  HOW IN THE WORLD CAN YOU PUSH THAT CRAP OFF ON YOUR USERS.  YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.  YOU CAN BET I WILL BE TAKING THIS BAD ADVICE YOU ARE GIVING OUT TO PEOPLE, TO SOMEONE WHO CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.  PLAY TIME IS OVER....  NO MORE GRACE PERIOD FOR YOU.  I HAVE ONLY MET ONE TSR IN THIS WHOLE MESS WHO HAS A MODICUM OF DECORUM AND HE HAS BEEN A FANTASTIC HELP TO EVERYONE HERE.  TSR-DANT Is the only person in all your CSR and TSR department that has offered anyone any help here.  The rest of you just spew out some party line crap about firewalls and routers and I still cannot trace past your servers in california.  GIVE ME A BREAK.</span>

Same problem for me too. It was working just fine for a few days then I get home after work tonight and I get the same problem booted to desktop. Ive been an SOE customer since eq1  went live back in 99 and ive never had this much of a hassle before. Maybe because we are in Korea and sony is a Japanese company they are putting the hate on us. My friends that play in Japan have not had any problems at all. I am seriously thinking of taking my business someplace else.

How come it is the asian side of the world that gets their IP addresses blocked. So Sony now blocks IPs based on ethnicity. I think that is illegal.

Go here to start the process <a href="http://www.station.sony.com/support/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">http://www.station.sony.com/support/</a> You need to have your log in info ready and all that also.  They are going to ask you do a bunch of stuff to ensure that it is not your comp just do it and send them the info.  Once your comp has been cleared its a waiting game I guess mine has been done for over 24 hours now working on 32 and I am still waiting with my wife and her comp and account waiting also.  As for them blocking the asian ISP's well it has to do with plat farmers and stuff from what I gather.  I think its BS also as I would think that in this day and age it would be easy to figure out who is a plat farmer and who is not just by running a trace program or some such on the account activity.  What do I know though I am not a comp programer or anything.  Like I said though the above link is where you start hope it helps and the more people we get to put in tickets maybe the sooner we will see results.

I also need to point out that the commonly accepted theory here is that we are blocking your IP address, this is incorrect. The issue we were having previously was due to that, in a way, however this current issue is not the same thing.  The team that was responsible for that has already assured that their project would not effect you any more, and they have confirmed that none of the disconnects you're having are from their project. At this time I do not know the cause.

thanks <span class="genmed"><b><span style="color: #ff9900;">TSR-DanT</span></b></span> for trying to sort it out. glad to see soe actively working on this and despite everyones attitude its appreciated. i have tried to log in from my pc to a couple of eq2 accounts and it is happening on both. can log in but not get to my character so it seems to be my PC or IP. however i know 100% its not my PC as this was happening a couple of days ago and since then I have reformatted and replaced alot of hardware in my PC and just this morning finished the mamoth 30 hours of downloading.

Getting disconnected where you say you are is a different issue, most people are getting the Login Rejected: Invalid User Name or Password.Telling me that you could get in through VPN would have been helpful, but I still think you might be in a different issue here. Similar? Yes. Exactly the same? It seems not.

Same here, living in Hong KongCompletely fresh install.Buy the Game Saturday - insta-ban the moment I try to log in - cannot even reach the customer pages to change/cancel my billing information. After much todo using another account to access support I finally get it unbanned *four* days later. Create an character after the patching and "insta-crash" at "cashing appearances".I think I deserve my money back.

So we have two different types of disconnects then?  I'm doing what I can, gathering data.

I have tried to login to my mates account from my PC and still exact same problem.Just to clarify, game rejects username/password or crashes to desktop just after it says "Finding Character XXX", "Entering Game" then begins to load the zone.therefore it is not my account that is the problem or my PC, leaving the only option that its my internet conection ~(that is otherwise working fine) or its a problem down SOE's end ie ip blocked

<p>Kaltona and all others who post to these threads it is increidbly important to be as complete as possible when posting to help these guys figure out what is going on.  Also jumping to your own conclusions usually doesnt help.  While I am sure you think your right and in many cases you may be but without being able to know all the variables you can only speculate and that doesnt help.</p><p> Kaltona you said </p><p><span style="color: #cc0000;">I have tried to login to my mates account from my PC and still exact same problem.Just to clarify, game rejects username/password or crashes to desktop just after it says "Finding Character XXX", "Entering Game" then begins to load the zone.therefore it is not my account that is the problem or my PC, leaving the only option that its my internet conection ~(that is otherwise working fine) or its a problem down SOE's end ie ip blocked</span></p><p>1. You tried your friends account on your PC and you still have the same problem.  Yet you state that it is not your PC that is the problem?  All you ruled out was that it was not necessarily your account that was the cause.  Attempting both accounts with the same resulting problem on the same PC does not rule that PC out as being part of the problem.</p><p> Please dont take this the wrong way but I can see how the TSR's have a difficult time helping you all with all the message fragments that get posted.</p><p>From someone that used to do the CS thing (not for Sony btw)  those who are concise and complete with their posts usually got the higher percentage of my bandwidth because I had a more complete picture to work with.  I would suggest that if you do find it necessary to continue to repost - aleast repost all of your symtoms and steps to resolve in each post adding as you go or update your original posts.   Would keep the spam down and maybe help the TSR's and your peers to help you help yourself. </p><p>Just a thought</p>

I'm in Taiwan and I've been having problems of the "drop to desktop at caching" kind until this week. Then I got a couple of days of so-so play in until tuesday's downtime. (4/29)Since then, I've been getting the "<span class="postbody">Login Rejected: Invalid User Name or Password". </span>

Hello Everyone I've been lurking around these forums for awhile providing input where I can, but have been moved up to be official now.  Feel free to PM me on these situations as well now.  I've been working with TSR Dan for awhile and am well versed in these issues, plus his cube is only a paper airplane throw away.I hope to get all issues resolved in a good timely matter, and will be checking the forums and PMs during work hours as well as some off hours and weekends.Happy Hunting!

UPDATE!Still having problems, contacted SOE and they want the usual. A bunch of files to help fix the problem, there is no way around this, so just send them. Most people are having the same problem and they don't know what it is and the way they told me to extract the file doesn't work so they told me to contact the computer admins at HP to get access to DOS. Which according to them I do have access and I still can't get the files. So from here I don't know what to do, and it looks like SOE doesn't either.

When Using the CMD prompt in Vista, you don't use the search, to open as admin you have to right click and open as admin or you will get access denied when searching for files.

<p>A good point about more deatail so here it is.</p><p>My wife and I are haveing the same problem on 2 differant computors and it does not matter which comp we use I can use hers she can use mine but the end result is the same.  We load into the game either to the char select screen or straight in to char and one of 3 things happen.</p><p> 1) We load in and can move around how ever our connectivity status window says our ping is 1000+ and while we have movment it appears that we are ""warping"" from place to place.  Anything that we click in game such as broker and bank takes 5+ min to load and while we are waiting for that to pop up which it might or might not we get dropped back to the char select screen.</p><p>2) We load into the game either to char select or right in and we never make it to the game and drops us back to char select</p><p>3) We load into game as the above two state and it drops us to the char select screen but says bad account info or something like that and there are no char's there and its asking us to create a char but we have to exit to desk top will not allow us to click anything but the lil box that holds the error message.  This one has only happend 2 times on my comp and once on the wifes but I was unsure of its relevance althoug it has only happend since the start of this I figured I should include it here.</p><p>I will PM you both our account info and the ticket number for tracking.  We appriciate all your help in this matter.</p>

PM your station name to Dan and he will look into it.  I for some reason cannot get PMs just yet.  We do want all customers to play, as we are a business and of course without our good customers we would not make money and more content.  As you may or may not know yet.  There are many companies in the eastern and western countries , that offer illegal services on our servers, and fraudulently use other peoples credit cards to purchase our serves and software licenses. There is an excellent post <a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=411660" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">HERE</a>, that will explain more of what happens with the spammers/plat sellers.

Ours is fixed now or well it has been for the last 20 or so hours.  We think that maybe we were getting some ""connection degridation"" over time at one of the hops maybe they were upgrading or something dunno but it went on for a while and now its gone.  The Tech Reps were very helpfull even though it was not an issue on either of our ends.  Check with your ISP  though to be on the sfe side they guys here in Guam were able to eliminate our system and thiers the guys at SOE were able to eliminate the servers and what not.  It took a while but it got done.

You can use the Find command from the Start menu to locate it. Open the file using notepad/wordpad and paste the contents to the appropriate thread. If you would like I can check the account to see if there's a problem on our end, but it seems unlikely that there is if you're able to connect to that account from a different location.  Please PM the station name and I'll investigate that for you. Thanks

<p>Well I thought I was the lucky one, seeing that seven other folks from my guild was having this issue on and off over the last month and I seemed to be missing out on all the fun: guess it my turn now.  Starting 2 days ago when I tried to log into the game I get the following error message "Login rejected: Invalid username or password. Please try again." I get this message after I have already gone through character selection and the game is drawing the zone. I am able to see inside the chat window the MOTD, guild message that my character has logged in, etc. but then I receive the Login Rejected message and get the boot with the game closing after I click the Quit button (only option).</p><p>I have tried different characters, a second account, rebooted the computer, router, modem, got another IP address from the ISP (different Subnet), did full file scan, defrag the drive, deleted the files as recommended in this thread. <p>TSR-DanielH,</p><p>Question for you, do you guys let your help desk folks know what you are doing to fix this problem that we are having. The reason I ask is I just got an update to my trouble ticket telling me that my password that I am using is bad and that they need to reset it. Which by now we both know is not the case seeing I am able to log back into the game without having to change my password. I think it would benefit the everyone if someone was to clue your helpdesk folks in on the problem and fix.</p>

Dear all board masters I'm requesting for more info on this issue, just a little more.1 : Was there any policy that disallowing subscribers from outside US to enjoy EQ2? Was that issue aiming on the extinguishing of gold farmers? (Well most MMORPG did today, not an offensive issue, FARMER AWAY.)2 : Will it be fixed after patch 45? I'm able to login on 11/5 for half days but IP Banner again on 12/5. Is there a must to PM your login ID for access rights?3 : Will there be any compensation to those less fortunate for their loss in game times ( and in mind and in temper and blah blah...)? How would SOE rebuild their image of being a racism freaks to those less fortunate(In their point of view only, no offense)? Please kindly answer my questions.

If you're unable to log in and your characters are not appearing on the character select screen, then its almost surely the server being down.  I believe all of them are back up now, though.

<p>While I am able to connect and get into the game I too am now having very high pings (from 800-1650 is normal now) when I try to play. This all started about 3 days ago. Before this I was able to play fairly well with normal pings around 300-400 range which is playable on a pve server for me. I have checked your account, mythril, and you're not being blocked from our end.  Just to be sure the problem isn't on our end I also had the platform development team apply the fix that is correcting the 'login rejected' issue.  You seem to be having a normal connection related issue.

This is getting silly!Last weekend I could not play. I would log in (like others) and then crash to desktop with no error. Online support told me that it was not on their end yet first thing Monday morning I could play again. Now it's doing it again.[Removed for Content]!I can log into other online games just fine. This is just happening to EQ2.When will you guys fix these darn errors?-JB

Ok here is some more info:I cannot log into EQ2 from two different computers in the house. Both share a Linksys router so I figure that maybe it's the router or Firewall so I DMZ the router and turn off the Firewall but I still cannot get in. I remove the router and still cannot get in.I then ask my friend to log into my account from Atlanta (AT&T) and he can get in just fine so my account is fine.I have AT&T in Chicago so this is somehow related to either Sony's or different ISP's around the country is what I am thinking.BTW last week when this happened I totally reinstalled Vista so it's not something on my system. What is strange is that AT&T Atlanta can get in but AT&T Chicago cannot. Is SOE using some ports that are prone to be shut down by different ISP's? Why did this just start happening? Is it just certain ISP's?Hmmmmm-JBP.S. Just was able to get in now. I PM'ed the reps here earlier so I dunno if they did something or if AT&T or SOE opened something up

Well, I guess this is as good a place to post this as any. I am posting on behalf of my friend who is not that good with computers. When he tries to log into any game (EQ, EQ2, LON, Vanguard) he gets the following "Error: The Operation has timed out". This just started Saturday morning. We have checked his account settings and all look good. We are able to log in to the "My Account" part of the sony page and verify that the account is active there. We have tried loggin into four differant computers in differant locations in Las Vegas and we get the same error on all 4 computers. If we try logging in with a differant account it goes through with no problems so its not a connection issue. Any help would be great.

After a long break (went back to EQ), I decided to come back and do some EQ2 as I am dealing with some tough time constraints and would like to be able to play/solo with limited time.I logged in for the first time in ages this afternoon and ran around a bit getting used to the ui and controls and such.  When I tried to get back into the world later, it just instantly shuts down when the character is about to enter the world.  By instantly shuts down, I mean that EQ and EQ only just quits.  No stalling, lag, error messages or anything.  Just poof.I read some of the other posts but have not found anything to help me as of yet.  I will keep looking as well.

Now there is one thing I can say for sure... it's NOT your computer system. Some ports or whatnot are being blocked between your ISP and SOE. Now who's fault it is? I dunno but every other online game I play works just fine. This seemed to have started a month or two ago when SOE was trying to battle the gold farmers.Last night I was not able to log in with AT&T in Chicago but my friend was able to log in my account with AT&T Atlanta. Since none of my computers were able to log in even with the router removed and firewalls turned off I concluded that it was not me but rather something with SOE or AT&T Chicago. I can long into Lotro just fine, play all sorts of other online games just fine. Only EQ2 seems to have this issue.A few hours later and I can get back in. Nothing changed with my system or router... it just started working again. Now if this is something with AT&T then I would be glad to call them and yell at them but SOE needs to tell me what to say. So far they have been silent and telling us to PM them after which the service just seems to start working again. This leads me to think this is some form of "universal" blocking that SOE is doing to try and fight gold farmers and spammers and they have to deal with those poor souls (us) that get trapped in the filter. While I encourage and applaud their efforts to fight these pests and I cannot fault their dedication to making EQ2 the best game it can be given the limited resources ($$$) that the Sony beancounters give them, it sure sucks when you cannot get in to play when you want. They need to be more open with us or fix this for good IMHO.What does [Removed for Content] me off is that I spent an hour with their useless "chat" tech support who treated me like I was 6 years old and did not know my system. I copied and pasted the exact issue from this forum and either they have no clue about what the other half of the company is doing or they do not care.I told them the exact issue and they told me it was on my end. A few hours later and (without me doing anything) the game started working again.I guess my system fixed itself. So if it's not you SOE then tell me exactly what to tell AT&T. I'll raise holly hell with them but I need to be able to tell them, for example, "SOE says that ports xyz and abc are being blocking out of Chicago"then I can tell them to stop doing whatever it is they are doing locally here.... otherwise I have to assume it's on your end.-JB

Nighthunter,I'm pretty sure I know exactly which issue you're experiencing.  Please PM me your station name and I'll check the account.  The beta launcher usually sidesteps this issue if you wanted to get in game immediately.  You may want to use that in the meantime.  I have included the link below.<a href="http://launcher.station.sony.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://launcher.station.sony.com/</a>Lurking Shaman,That might be caused by the login rejected bug which is a different issue than the one nighthunter is probably experiencing.  PM me your station name and I'll check it out for you.  Sadly, that problem can't be avoided by using the beta launcher.Cassea,The issue you're experiencing seems to be caused by the network your ISP is routing you through.  It seems that some people have been having these issues since the big internet crash a few months back(happened on a friday night if I recall correctly).  Its possible that AT&T started doing something strange to their network or they never fully corrected the problem since that date.  Thats when I started seeing the 100% packet loss through those hops, though.

Can't play again....Just got off the phone with AT&T and they claim that they are not blocking anything. Now it's possible that I'm being routed through some other company from Chicago to Sony but at this point what can I do?I know 100% that it's not meAT&T claims it's not themSony claims it's not themDo I just find another game to play? Continue to pay $15 a month and hope that someday whatever is blocking me fixes itself? This has been happening on and off for months. Password is rejected about 20% of the time and the rest of the time the zone starts loading and then crash to desktop with no message. This all started when Sony started fighting the gold spammers. Apparently they are filtering the chat windows and automatically adding IP's to the block list. You fixed this for me and several others a few months back (I never bought gold but I was sending "bite me" type replies to those that spammed me for gold so I suspect the stupid program thought I was buying gold)Is it possible that this filter is causing the problem?-JB

Ok fixed the issue.Sone "IS" blocking IP addresses. When I foced my modem to reset thus getting a new IP I was able to log in.Since I keep getting blocked I have to assume that Sony has my account on a block list. Did I do something wrong? You keep blocking my IP and when I send a PM the "current" IP that was blocked gets unblocked but the next time I get a new IP I get blocked again. This is all speculation but I do know that my issue is that the IP that AT&T assigned me was being blocked by Sony. This all started with the gold farmer stuff months ago.Can you fix this once and for all please!Making people jump through hoops and all these hours of reinstalling things, calling ISP's and whatnot and worst of all being told that it's not Sony's fault which is a 100% lie!Sorry if I sound [Removed for Content]... I am!If you have a reason to block my IP then let me know what I did wrong. If I did nothing then stop blocking me. Any other company would issue a month or two credit to my account for doing this to a customer. Your tech support (at least the chat guys) told me it was all my fault and to fix it.I guess that guy should be fired huh?grrrrrr I'm so [Removed for Content] right now!-JB

Hello Nicsum and Hooverchau,What error message are you getting when you try to log in?  Are you getting the 'login rejected' or maybe a 'connection time out' message?  Are you playing on the Live Gamer servers?  There are a few separate issues at the moment, and I'd like to help you correct them, but I'm not sure which one you're experiencing.

I moved among different countries due to work. Always been able to login to play eq2 for the last 4 years. Looks like "<span class="postbody">Login rejected: Invalid username or password. Please try again" problem has no solution outside US. I guess, it is time to leave the game. </span>

Kuulei,I'm not sure what got your game working again but I don't think it was one of us.  We had already tried several things with your account that had no effect.  Seems there may have simply been a connection issue between our servers and you that has since been corrected.Firewolf,I applied the fix to your account as soon as I got into work this morning.  Let us know if that corrects it for you.Akine,You may want to post your connection test results and PM Me or Trevor with your station name so we can investigate. We do our best to help everyone no matter what they say about us or SoE.  Saying you're going to cancel your account won't change how we view a specific case.  Trevor and myself will do our best to help you as long as people stay away from personal attacks.  I know these issues can get frustrating, I play the game myself, we're just trying to keep everything in this forum constructive.

I am posting this from my wifes login as I cannot log in to either te forums (I get Invalid Password or Login message) or the game. This morning I logged in to my character as normal and when I went to camp to another character, I got the 'invalid login, password rejected' error message. I reloaded EQ2 and tried to log in and now I get the 'Error Operation timed out' message. My wife can log on to her account fine on my system. We were both logged in last night with no issues.

Since then whenever I try logging in I get the 'timed-out' message. I'm on Splitpaw.

I have PM'd concerning the exact same issue on three of my accounts. Things were fine until 7am EST when I started getting the log in rejected message. Requesting a new password (thinking maybe I'd been spelling mine wrong some how) did nothing, and while I'm glad to see I'm not the only one, I'd really like to have this issue fixed, please. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Went to logon my account this morning and it keeps coming up "Error:  This Operation Has Timed Out", I can not log in to the message boards (On my wifes account right now, mine comes up with invalid password), and can not log in to my account information ( Error Code: error.authentication.retrieval.fail).  My wifes account works perfectly fine on the same computer. My Station Name:  [oops, I didn't think that posting my login name to the world was a <span style="color: #ff0000;"><i><b>bad</b></i> </span>thing...]Thanks

Posted originally on wife's account as Noulla - I can log onto my account again and log on to the forums under my account. Not sure if something was done by tech support to my account or a general fix. If either one of those, thanks much =)

<p>As of now, the issue with login is cleared up.  It was a very temporary issue, and at the time being has been laid to rest.</p><p>~Gnobrin!</p>

I'm in doubt how seriously SOE is addressing this issue, considering current circumstance.New game has just released, some guildies have gave up on this issue exist over 1 month with non of their petitons have been properly replied, asking same questions over and over without going anywhere, and thus they have moved on to new game; no plan of comming back for paying for service "not even avairable".Some having problem as crushing to desktop upon every zoning as well; issue started about same time as people started having login issue as well. Getting same type of support from CSR.This issue is pretty much killing my guild activities, and thus we are facing decison that probably need to move on to other game as well, considering how slow SOE is addressing "out of service" status for some players, charging money for service that "not even avairable".

<cite></cite>SoE you guys are not allowing your customers in asian countries play successfully? they spend good money on this game and hard work in game getting there characters up? i have played with solotiger on Antonia bayle server for years and now he cannot login? what is this BS??? This is unacceptable. This is how you lose your valued customers to other games such as Age of Conan, and dont get me started on WoW, that game took half of my guild because you guys wanted to make it not possible for my friends to log in. PLEASE FIX THIS! or you will be losing ALOT OF MEMBERS!                                                                                                                    Sincerely: A very angry customer.<blockquote>It happen again!since  yesterday got booted back to desktop! And today is reject log in invalid user name or password!I am from China Shenzhen (connected with HK)</blockquote>

We are not blocking the countries in the far east. Its is an issue that affects customers ALL over the world.  If you are having an issue logging in, please PM myself or DanielH your station name please.  Many of the people who PM me on this issue, come from every continent. If we are blocking plat farmers/sellers, I consider that a good thing. <a rel="nofollow" href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=411660" target="_blank">Here </a>is a good post explaining what problems are caused, by what <b>I</b> consider thieves, who work for these companies.
