quad core 2.4 OC 3.0

64bit vista

4gigs ram

8800 gtx

Creative sound blaster x-fi Xtremegamer

Any info let me know.

When my system locks its a hard lock I cannot do anything except power off the system and restart it. This can happen anytime anywhere. Sometimes I go for a few hours sometimes minutes. EQ2 is the game it does this on. I have let my system over night with nothing running no lock-ups. I have ran Battlefield 2142 for hours nothing. I have ran Americas Army for hours not lock-ups. I am going to check all my software updates when I get home today. I would like to know any other suggestions I can try or if anyone else is having this problem.

Thanks

I'll take the logical approach did you prime95 test it on all cores for at least 12 hrs, or occt test it. I know i've run a lot of things fine on my e8400 oc'd to 4ghz but it would fail prime so I backed things down. Will also tell if you have a cooling problem.

So I have ran Prime test for 9 hours so far everything has passed. My cpu temp is just below 30 degrees C. A friend suggested I take out 2 of the 4 gigs amd see if I have the same problem. Then keep swapping to see what if any problems might occure.

Any other suggestions.

Thanks

If it stops locking up then look to see if there are any decent drivers. Hard lockups like this are primarilly hardweare caused.
