I've read a lot promoting both sides, on the tinkering side there is the added utility of everything they can make but on the transmutation side there are all the great enchants and such. Having a hard time deciding, which do you think would be best for an armorer? Thanks for the help.

That depends. If you're serious about adventuring, tinkering is the way to go, unless your raiding group has no transmuter, at which point transmuting makes sense. Transmuting is expensive and annoying, and doesn't give you anything useful- except really cheap supplies for making adornments, and the ability to transmute for a raid group, so you can turn trash into treasure. Tinkering is relatively easy and has some nice utility items. I routinely use my commonlands wormhole, call of the tinkerer (teleport to group member), and menderbot.

The only advantage of having a Transmuter on your adventuring toon is that you can transmute old items and no-trade quest rewards.Tinkering on the other hand gives you access to "call of the tinkerer" (1 hour re-use teleport to target), Wormhole generators that teleport you to antonica/commonlands, a summonable mender for those tough raid zones. there are also many other clicky items and useful trinkets. Most of what a transmuter offers is tradable. I'd remocmend you either befriend one that will transmute for you, or if you have a crafting alt, make it a trasmuter and have your SK as a tinkerer.

LOL sk/armourer, why not go transmuter for an all round trifecta
