Hi there

Thinking of picking my brigand up again. I got him up to low 50s before going off to experiment with other classes. Now thinking of taking him up to 80. To help do that, I'd appreciate some advice on gear and on CAs. While I was levelling him up to 50 I generally just bought the normal crafted armour and adept 1s - I was really just experimenting with different classes and didnt want to blow cash on a toon who might be deleted tomorrow (I like experimenting; 7 slots is way too low ). Anyway, he seemed to do ok. But, if Im going to play him seriously, thinking I ought to look at this stuff a bit more closely. So -

How much difference does gear really make to a brigand's effectiveness while levelling? I'm well aware that for some toons its key - I spend a wad on my SK to make sure he's got the best mitigation he can get for his level. But I'm less persuaded for the brigand. I tend to see gear as about a) mitigation b) stats and c) resists. Given that solo I flip and stun mobs, and grouping the tank shd tank, I don't see much point buying mitigation. Resists may be key, but Ive yet to play a game where they matter much outside of high end raiding. So its presumably about stats. But having experimented a bit on other classes, stats seem to make a pretty marginal difference in EQ2 - a load of str = a few extra pts of dammage. So does gear matter while levelling, or should I just save my cash for now? if I should buy gear now, whats the gear to go for? Ive always assumed str first, than prob stam. But I see many people favour int for poisons and agility - though not clear why (always assume we shouldnt be getting hit).

Are CA's better to invest in, and are they worth investing in now? - I can at least look at a new CA and see that my extra plat produces a tangible amount of of extra dammage. So I'm quite tempted. But then I tend to think that Ill be replacing the CA in a few levels, and anyway Ill probably only use it once a minute anyway. With some classes Ive played there have been a few stand out CAs that are vastly more important than others - for eg I always spent cash to get the best pet I can for my necro, and the best heals for my mystic. But with the brigand, each CA is just another attack - though dispatch I know is held in high regard. So - is it worth putting down plat for CAs while levelling, or should I save it up. And if it is worth going for adepts 3s etc, which to go for?

One final (somewhat different) qu if I may. Getting back on him, he has a *load* of abilities. So far I generally went (solo) double throw, then the HO button followed by vicious stab, gouge and the str debuff thing in quick succession to get the HO slashing thing, then Id hit WTP and the 6 second root in place thing, before unloading my back / side attacks. In terms of those, I always hit the big mitigation debuffs first, and then just fired off the rest in order of biggest to smallest dammage to make sure I got most out of the debuff. After than if mob still standing, Id hit the vicious assult type frontal attacks and ruse before recycling. Does that sound about right? In groups tbh Id generally just get behind the mob and spam the end of that cycle throwing in others if they came up. Feeling v rusty right now!

Any advice appreciated, cheers

Stra
