Sound problems

<p>Hi all, and thanks in advance for any help!</p><p>I am currently experiencing a great deal of "crackling" sounds in-game. It has been happening with more frequent regularity lately. What could be the cause of this? I have set the sound option in game to EAX and 5.1 speakers and am using the analogue connectors to my speaker system.</p><p>Here are the basic sound system stats:</p><p>SB X-FI Extreme Music sound card</p><p>Logitech Z5450 Digital 5.1 speakers</p><p>Any ideas?</p><p>Thanks!</p>

Disable EAX in your creative center and in EQ2.  I'm assuming you're running Vista, for some reason a lot of people (myself included) have problems with EAX enabled with Vista.  I am running XP Home now and have no more sound issues.
