Hello swash community,I'm new to the game in terms of +Crit,DA,CA... so I'm wondering HOW do we know how to prioritize these things? I have received a lot of 'experienced' opinions regarding this matter, however I'm not willing to simply accept said opinions without some form of evidence. Do we, as a swashy community, have some sort of spreadsheet, or other device to evaluate our dps based on these variables? I'm fully aware I may be asking a stupid question (ie: asking for too much, over simplifying the whole dps situation, etc. ) But, at the same time I think its worth asking. And just to put it out there...I'm totally willing to try and develop such a model. After all, I (like many others) simply wish to improve my character.Regards,Murff

Thanks, that is a good start for me...at least it helps me decide on weapons. I think what I'm learning is that the swash needs to be flexible on his gear to accomidate the different buffs they may have in any particular group/raid. It's probably something the more experienced players just sort of learn to get a 'feel' for. In any case, thank you for that link.

Murff

I find a ratio of 3:1:25 crit:da:+ca is a good way to prioritize. da and ca boost are independent of each other, but both dependent on crit%.

I focus on crit wherever possible. Crit affects both CAs and autoattacks, the rest do not.

If I cannot find a crit item i'll fill the spot with one of the other types, though +dps is not a big seller for me- with adorned neck and range slot items (currently 20) and the strength ring proc (31) I feel I have enough to make +DA or +CA more attractive.

I'm close to 50% +crit now, and with +DPS, and +DA in group settings, it's pretty amazing.

+dps is nothing to scoff at, since roughly half of a swashbucklers damage comes from auto attack (especially our ae damage). Depending on how far up the curves you are, and depending on what buffs you generally get, often times I'd take an item with +10 dpsmod over an item with 2% crit and some ca damage. going from 0 to 10 increases your dpsmod by 10-11%, going from 170 to 180 gives you next to nothing though.

Is DPS mod affected by diminishing returns ? I've been wondering for a while ...

Yes. Someone probably has a cool graph for haste/dps returns but around 80-100 is the 'soft' cap where you're still getting about 1% = 1, cap is 200 haste/dps (125% increase)

+dps is, however, a great deal easier to get that the rest- everyone has access to two skills which, between them, give us 80+ dps for a reasonable period of time and are usually up for each named encounter. I currently make do with a +10 dps adorn on my neck and +10 on my throwing weapon (i'm a cheapskate) as well as a tynnonnium ring. I also get +2dps from my Tynnonnium Shackle, which is an amazing questline reward item in Kunzar and has a couple of melee crits too.
