I spam buttons 1-3 continuely and 4-6 if above 50% durability and I have NEVER seen my power bar fall below 98% ever. Health bar has dropped to 0% waayyyy back at launch and I remember the power button draining pretty fast back then also.

But currently power is not even a consideration while crafting to me, but I am only at tier4 stuff so maybe the upper tiers use more power?

It seems to be a waste of a few racial abilities that decrease power costs of a tradeskill.

What class are you? How much power regen do you have? How large is your power pool?

Only one of the three buffs uses power. If you've got really good power regen and/or a very small power pool, you won't notice your power consumption.

I have two level 80 crafters. The illusionist can go all day without going under 95% power. The mystic will blow about 60% of her power doing a single rush order writ.

The two reaction arts that use power (one for durability, one for progress) consume a percentage of your max power (like 10, 15, or 20%). If your max power is high (like a caster) then you will need to drink something to counteract the power loss, and/or strip off all your power-increasing armor and buffs to decrease your max power pool. The power regen you get from drink (or power totems) is constant - not a percentage of your max power.

If you examine the power used by each reaction art, and compare it to the power generated by drinking, you will get an idea how fast your power level might drop if you spam that reaction art the whole time you are crafting. If the numbers are roughly equal, then you are probably good. Otherwise, remember, drinking and getting naked is good for crafting (but not recommended for driving! )

Only 2 reaction arts (one +progress, one +durability) use power. The only other time you'll lose power is when you fail to counter certain events that pop up while crafting. Some of them will, if not countered, cause a power drain. I can't find the page that lists which events have which bad effects if not countered. One thing you can do to help the situation is to, as noted, remove all your gear and drop all your buffs that increase your power pool. Power drains and the power-consuming arts are a percentage of your max pool, not a fixed number, so the smaller your pool the smaller the amount of power used. The smaller that amount, the easier it is for drink, totems and power-regen effects to offset it.

I have never run out of power since Rise of Kunark came out, not even doing back-to-back rush orders. Before Kunark, it took the right gear and the right technique to keep from running out of power. Also rush orders take about 4 1/2 minutes to complete now. Used to have to rest and conserve energy between combines.

It seems oddly unbalanced. I have 6 Tsers, one is a dirge, the only with its own power regen, most of them run OOP if I spam it endlessly. The sculpting one that uses power seems to use very little though.
