I really just wanted to check if there are any know issues or fixes.I just started playing two days ago. I am playing on a Gateway with a Q6600 Core 2 Quad @ 2.4Ghz, I have 4GB RAM, and a EVGA Geforce 7900GTO (Almost the same as a 7900GTX).I am running on Vista Home Premium, all drivers are up to date.At 1680X1050 on Balanced, I am seeing anywhere between 30 and 80 fps. The problem is it still looks a little choppy and crappy even thought the framerates are ok, especially looking at another player running by in the distance, the animation all choppy...anybody seen this issue?

Basically everquest 2 does not utilize your video card like most high quality games out there because eq2 basically run everything threw the cpu and doesnt really use the full potential of your video card. Thats why when you play games other than eq2 that have spectacular graphics and your system seems to handle it ok but when you play eq2 your lagging like crazy that my friend is why.. I can play other games other than eq2 and get 90-100 fps on my setup and these game are more graphic intense than eq2 any day.. But as stated before eq2 dont utilize your gpu like most quality games and you get sucky fps in eq2. Im running spec below and i still get lag in eq2 other than most games.

3.2 gig hurt amd dual core

4 gig of high performance gaming ram

2x 8800 gt's video cards

When they designed this game the dev's said they were designing it for "future pc's", and that was their excuse for it running so crappy at the time. Now over 3 years later we see the truth, that it was just a sorry excuse for shoddy programming. Heck, Age of Conan runs smoother on my PC thatn EQ2.

I forget offhand what the title is but youll know it when you see it.

At the time they were developing this game, CPU's were single core and the CPU manufacturers were building faster and faster CPU's and that is what the EQ2 game developers were designing for. So what happened? CPU manufacturers stopped trying to squeeze out more GHz and started adding more cores onto the chip and thats where we are today.

Don't EZMode the graphics settings. Tweak them one at a time. All of them. Set them at low-medium, and adjust them one at a time. Yes, it will take a while. But you'll get better performance and better quality.

I had twin 7950 GTCO's in SLI, and until one of them started going a little south, it looked pretty fine, and ran smooth except for raid PvP, where you get 80-100 fools all trying to kill each other.

Please try the new option made specifically for nVidia cards (fix for shoddy drivers by nVidia).

Options, Display, Performance, put check mark by Reuse Vertex Shaders

That should alleviate stuttering.
