Struggling through the 50's on my mystic. Mainly cause there seems to absolutely almost no grouping, and when i do get a group( I usually start it). This is what happens in 80% of the groups, (me) Ok ill grab some dps for last spot. (grp member) Wait we need a healer. (others) yup grab a plate healer. (me) but im a healer =(. (others) ya... but backups are nice. Why? I do a good job but what has happened that makes most people not consider us a good healer for the groups? Also since getting past 50 soliong has become rougher, sure now that I got Rage form the AGI line seems better but still I struggle a bit. Basically does it get better?

Yes it does.... grab any partner.... no matter the class at all and go to town on what ever quest line you want to follow. It is an easy matter to level up if that is all you want. Stop trying to make a group for every outing... you are a melee priest and work well with any other class in pairs or small groups.

Erithorn

This is mehttp://eq2players.station.sony.com/...erId=1278611104Have 85 AAs atm, went STR 4-4-6-8-1, AGI 4-4-8-7-1, All CA are at 5, went to get Spirit of the Wolf to 40%. After that not sure where to go.Any suggestions would be nice. Or should I just go defiler cause that seems to be what I keep hearing. But I really do not want to be evil.

>>>you are a melee priest and work well with any other class in pairs or small groups.<<<This is true -- mystics pair up well with most classes and can heal groups just fine. The nice thing is that you can get just about anyone to tank for you (wizards work particularly well) and if they lose aggro and you start getting hit, you can take damage without dying (lots of health).Assuming you have completed the Combat AA line and have 100% melee crits (if not, go do that right now), you should have no problem soloing yellows and doing solo quests. Make sure you have a good weapon -- I would recommend a 2H staff with a high maximum damage.Go to Lesser Faydark. There are a lot of quests (50 to 60) there. You can also go to Tenebrous Tangle once you are 53ish. Also the DoF zones if you haven't done those. Also, if you are soloing, load up on STR/STA/AGI gear (with some INT). You are a fighter -- gear yourself like one.

Marginally is the truth too. It's very marginal, and the skill level of the player is almost sure to override any class based difference. As a Mystic, I can outheal any Defiler in guild. One of them is really, really close though, and since I have multiple L80's, I typically don't play my Mystic in raids.I hated the 50's and 60's when I was leveling my Troub here recently, but following those solo quest lines is the fastest way to get through to L70 where you can start doing RoK zones and blitz to 80.

i know it is a little hard for us to solo sometimes but if i was u i would start to do Quest there are some realy good quest at that lvl and u will get XP and AA for the doing it and if u are not in a guild get in one that fits u and if u are in a guild they sould help u out

I don't remember 50 taking as long as 60-70 did.. eeek!

Some tanks feel more comfertable with 2 healers then they do with 1 so if your not it might be a good idea to state you'd like to single heal..

Taking a partner or 2 and do the Lesserfay/Loping Plains quests seems to be the greatest way to get past 50-59 (You can do some of them solo but having company makes things go faster)

Also building your own groups is the smartest way to go about it otherwise you can end up in some odd groups.

I'd rather team up with another healer to do instances or the like but if you prefer to single heal for the challange then you should let your group know..

Skywarrior wrote:

Defilers are marginally better raid shamans than Mystics.

Not true! The only reason defilers tend to get put in the MT group is because Mystics are WAY better than them in the melee dps group. These days the effectiveness of defilers and mystics in the MT group is pretty much equal.

Level 50 to about 65 is the worst level range for all classes to level. It's nothing you're doing wrong, but there aren't enough solo quests and not too many groups for some reason as well.

I suggest you start your own groups if you're having issues...Mines of Meldrath, and Court of Innovation are great exp and loot (my favorites for the level). Once you get to the upper 50s I'm pretty sure a mystic would be able to group in SoS as well.
