hi.My brilliant idea is that I'd like to see some achievements for troubadours that would cause their combat arts to be counted as spells. The mystics, for example, have achievements that cause their spells to be counted as combat arts.If troubadour combat arts were counted as spells, their buffs would be made better without actually changing anything at all.It is simple, it is elegant, and it fits the overall intent of the class, and it would almost instantly vastly improve soloability. If we are going to buff casting, and casters, then it would be helpful to have this be more productive for ourselves. So that's my brilliant idea...notice that anyone that doesn't want this, would simply not select those achievements.thanks for reading.

The stumbling block I can see here, or at least one of them perhaps, is that many of our combat arts are positional, and I'm not sure how nicely they'd convert into spells. On the other hand, in my opinion, troubadours aren't really the type to strike from the shadows in the first place. *shrug*but yeah, the concept of having an option to have combat arts becoming hostile spells really makes me happy. lol

Interesting idea. I'm not sure how I feel about it. Nonetheless, it's an interesting idea.

For me, this would depend on if they converted into true spells, or "songs" As the ability to be moving while casting a good portion of our abilities is not something i would want to sacrifice.

I know what you mean. I'd think that if the combat art can currently be done while in motion, then the spell/song should too.I also think the spells should have the same range of the combat arts, to prevent exploitation, in other words, they'd only be good from melee range. The goal would be to have them be affected by anything buffing spells, including damage, crits, hostile spell procs, casting time, and being affected by INT.and again, it would be completely optional.

I love this idea! And to go even further, it would be nice to have another line that does the opposite for those who prefer melee and spec their gear for CA damage/crits and use haste and other melee buff songs. The nice thing about having this is that it would allow us to choose a side...play a scout/melee enhancer, or play a singer/caster enhancer. It would make choosing gear so much easier too, depending on which side you choose.

Right now it seems like we compete with both melee scouts and with mages for gear...except for the occassional rare item that has both CA and Spell damage/crit, which is obviously designed for us oddball hybrid types. When gear drops that has a nice int buff and spell damage I just drool and watch it go to a mage, when something drops with nice CA damage and melee crit, I drool again and watch it go to a melee scout. Finally, after the mages and melee scouts are all geared, then bards get a chance at those nice items. We basically are just above the transmuters in the list of who gets gear (speaking of nice raid or instance gear that isn't specifically designed for hybrids). So if we had this ability to go one way or the other, we cut our needs for gear in half as well, because we could concentrate on gearing for our chosen spec, rather than just taking the left-overs.
