Welcome to your new addiction. Even many of those that are convinced they've had it up to the eyeballs with the class's "issues" find it hard to walk away. That tell's ya something right there. Oh, and when you see good ole Burvich on the Nek docks tell him Mezzy sent ya.

Just wanted to chime in here as well. I have played EQ2 since shortly after it was released and my main has been my Warden. I have enjoyed playing her right up to Level 73. A short while ago, I discovered that she had the ability to charm animals (which is something that definitely fit in with my own personal idea of what a Warden class should be all about from my extensive reading of Fantasy novels). I immediately began to experiment with this and found that I was REALLY loving the ability. So much so, that when I needed to create a new Alt that I immediately thought of a Coercer to more fully experience that Charm style of play.

My first stop was to check out these forums. I read all the posts where everyone was saying how badly this class was messed up and began to wonder if I really wanted to create one or not. Then I talked to a few people in my Guild who had high level Coercers and asked their opinion. Most said that it was a fun class to play that unfortunately had a few problems that needed to be addressed. But the major consensus was that while it was a difficult class to master, it was definitely worth the time and energy. With their encouragement I decided to still give it a try.

My baby Sarnak Coercer is now up to the lofty height of Level 27 and I am enjoying every minute that I get to play her !!! There were a lot of dirt naps in the beginning but she is starting to get the feel of things and is dying less now. I took the time to read the great posts that I found on this board and was glad to make use of the great information that I found there.

Now, it looks like the class will be receiving some Dev love and I am looking forward to the day when I get high enough to understand more of what these changes will mean to the class.

Like Fairfax wrote, I am having a major blast playing this class and it is FUN !!! To anyone that has thought about creating one, I would definitely say Go For It !!!

FYI - charm animals works on drolvargs for some reason. So if you still play your warden you can use charm animal on them for fun and excitement.

I like coercer so much....Aside from the issues, which are really more in the top-end then through out, I love the class and I love the playstyle (it definitely keeps you on your toes).R'jack C'nyk, level 80 coercer on Guk raiding with Legion of the White Rose.Cinic Allure, level 21 coercer on AB taking the sloooooow route doing quests and stuff.Tiagre Machiavel, level 18 on Venekor also taking the slow route to get achievements and stuff I do not have any other classes in active multiples on different servers.

Just to add my voice to the clan...

I too have birthed a Coercer, a Sarnak currently 20, soloing through the quest line in Timorous Deep. I was attracted by the challenge of controlling the pet, combined with the power if the mage... and some envy as I watched the only coercer in my guild, handle difficult situations that would have defeated many others.

I am enjoying this lad immensely, and do spend some time perusing the fine information provided in these forums. I do agree with Rijacki (and the others) that the issues I keep hearing about are not game ending ones, and are being looked at. So far, it has been a most enjoyable experience.

Valgrin

(Erithorn's Coersive side)

Hello,I'm another new Coercer (lvl 25). I'm a returning player and love the charm killing capabilities of the class. I was a pre-AA player so I'm trying to find the right place for my AA usage, but am having a blast learning the class and exploring the new areas.
