<p>Can't find a better place for this so this forum wins.</p><p><b> As the game progresses and things get better and better, what happens to your Mythical weapon?</b></p><p>Suggestion: <b>make additional quests to further buff it up. </b> (I.E. Have an epic raid quest where if you kill the boss you can wash your epic gear in the blood, or pool he guards, etc. Presto, you just upgraded your epic/mythical to a levell 90 item with new improved stats. You would just be required to be level 90 to pick up the quest so you can start the adveture. (or whatever level the new cap is as you move along this train of thought.)) End result, your epic is always your main weapon, whether it is tricked out it is just a matter of how far you have travelled with it and what it has accomplished in your hands.</p><p>This should keep you going for years and have the old mythical weapon quests alive no matter what gets added. You would still have to complete the same old quests for ROK years from now if you want to follow the progression to your ultimant piece. (Oh, yeah and don't forget to occassionally add other uber pieces as we progress and put the same concept in place.) </p><p>(I may not work for SOE, but not opposed to getting paid. Feel free to shoot that Nexus gear to me in the mail...lol)</p>

<p>I can see it now...</p><p>"Hey You! Mystic with the mythical glowing treebranch that only but a select few people around Norrath have even heard rumors about! I know all about that weapon. I'm just a common citizen of Qeynos, but I know that weapon holds 14 more secrets behind it, each more powerful than the next. If you wanna learn how, I'll tell you. First, you gotta do 5000 pushups, then you gotta go clean my laundry and order my food from the Gnoll Cruisine Fast Food restaurant in Qeynos Harbor! Get to it! Chop chop!"</p>

<p>they should definitely do this sort of thing with the qeynos claymore line and the swords of destiny line... </p><p> If they do have it so some of these quest line rewards keep scaling all the way up to the highest teir, perhaps they can offer different weapons but of the same quality so that people can still have some uniqueness.</p>

I would like to see partial upgrades and or choices of what to upgrade.Like now when you start questing for the Mythical version of your weapon. You have to kill four boss mobs to get it.Why not every time you kill one of the bosses you get a partial upgrade of the weapon leading up to the full version when you kill all 4.Instead of getting nothing for killing 1 boss and all at once when you kill the last one. Also how about every time you kill a boss mob for an upgrade you have a choice of a few things you can add to the weapon.Put a little uniquness into everyone Mythical weapon.Or how about giving the Mythical weapon a AA tree or two?One tree could be for raid perks another for non raid perks.

Personally I rather have the weapon upgraded or have it be stolen from us we recover what was ours and during that process it gets upgraded or we get something to complement it.

Would be neat if they could scale your Mythic to you. (think splitpaw drops) Otherwise, Ive always wished they would make class specific armor quests like the level 20 city ones. Make them stupid hard, it would be fun! =p A developing nightmare, but fun! *dreams* wouldnt it be nice to have your class with a special unique look? *wakes up*

The "what happens when the level cap goes up" argument was actually the primary reason stated again and again why they were reluctant to put epic weapons in the game at all. I'm all for an advanced quest or whatnot to improve it when the time for level cap increase comes. I hope they don't just scale it.

I think that is a great suggestion to having it be upgraded over the years. Devs, are you listening? <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

<p>Well, remember, they introduced the Epic 2.0 in Eqlive because all the epic weapons were outdated by 6 expansions.</p><p>They'll just have to do that again, only this time, making it dual wield for those classes who can use both weapons.</p>

At the first glance upgrading the epic weapons looks good. But it isn't. First everyone of the same class would use the same weapon because the epic weapons are the best. Only the dual-wielders will have a slight variation with the off-hand weapon. That's boring. The next point is you roll an alt or a friend joins the game and starts from fresh. Now you have to do the quest to get your epic from 5 expansions ago, upgrade your epic by raiding mobs from 5 expansion ago, then do the upgrade quest from 4 expansion ago, upgrade to mythical by raiding zone 4 expansion ago, do the upgrade quest from 3 expansion ego... Doesn't sound that go, does it? Just look how often people do prisma1 or prisma2 these days. I admit I did the prisma2 quest line up to the godking quest. But I know I will never get the last update because nobody is farming the eyes / killing godking anymore. Same would come true for doing epic weapon upgrades form several expansions ago.The best is just enjoy your epic weapon while you have it now till something better comes up in the next expansion.

<p>How can an epic weapon last forever? It should. Right now our epic's have effects that can be likely found in raid zones (some unique of course). There is no epic effects that say "Wow. that is just awesome, this totally screams "insert X class here". </p><p>Things they could have done with the epics that would have actually given them use would have been to make them charm slot equipable, as well as weapon. They should have given a skill or buff on use of the item. Think about it like it was in EQ1. Enchanters - speed of the shissar for group members. Single target haste. Clerics - Rez spell on click, long cast time. Conjurors summoning a special pet from their staff. You see the point.</p><p>These are the effects that should have gone on the epic weapons, which will invalidate the epics by next expansion. In EQ1 their epics lasted for how many expansions? Many, before 2.0 versions were released.</p>
