ok so i have a wizzy , near level 40, i'm thinking of betraying mainly because i play on runneeye, a VERY small server so i mainly solo, and i'm having problems with my wizzy solo...all i do is chain>nuke, and that eats alot of powerAre warlocks more effecttive/fun soloing?

I think a warlock is more fun because of the challenge, you're going to be doing the same thing soloing.Root > Nuke repeat. However, warlocks have less large single target nukes, drawing fights out and giving your root more chance to break. If you want a strong solo class, which is also power efficient, try an illusionist.

I won't go to wizard myself even though all the benefits (like Evac) are continually there because I just love the lock motif. Of course, loving a motif says nothing about the quality of the spell lineup. The props nerf hurt us bad. And I don't care what anyone says. It was a nerf. When something is ingame for a year or more, in other words long enough to roll a toon from 0 to 80 (reasonably), you expect the mechanic to stay as is. Even if props was never intended to affect equipment, it should have been changed after all this time to read that it does affect equipment, rather than making us sweat every time some noob posted his findings.

Locks, in their original design, were not the AE kings of EQ2, but they became that way a few months into the expansion because they were too similar to wizards. But of course, the game mechanics weren't designed to handle the AE hate, and still arent and probably never will be. You can spend 45 AAs doing something about that, but what a waste. So what you end up with a class that doesnt fit into the game. You can squirm it in and spend vast personal resources tyring to make it work, but that's not cool.

Just like that evac thing. Where's our T5 special? How bout giving us a personal stealth? Hehe. That's prolly what our gift would be. You know how shocked I was when I found out that wizard spire teleportation would be granted to locks? It blew my mind that they even considered it. After all, it's not called a warlock spire, so therefore we couldn't hold it against them if they forgot about us.

Dang, there I go again. Sorry. I'm sure we're loved and I'm just being pessimistic.

Betray or not... Playing a warlock is just love/hate situation. In my opinion, Warlocks are hard work and require much much more attention to parse high on regular encounters, whereas Wizards are pretty much one-trick-ponies. You cannot compare building-up-dps-over-time with a few instant-high-damage spells.IMO, groups will always pick a wizard over a warlock, coz huge single-target is more efficient in the majority of encounters and nameds and people don't wanna risk adds with an AE class. The VOES instance is the only one that I truly like as a Warlock.Warlocks -never- had the love Wizards had. Sure we got a teleportation ability, but so did Wizards and Druids. Warlocks -never- got something of their own. If your skin is as thick as an elephant to not care about such things, then yeh, i would say betray to warlock.Warlocks are complete different ball game and it might require a lot of adjusting if you come from wizard class.Personally I would roll a new character and check out the class before doing a betrayal.
