Like a lot of people, I'm running EQ2 on a laptop. I have an nVidia Geforce 8700M video card, with 2.4 dual core procs, 3 Gb RAM, and XP Pro. WHEN the game is running, it runs balanced settings at 50fps easily. However, eventually, I get this occuring:

And with ProfitUI:

This is in windowed mode, because it takes longer for the problem to occur there as opposed to full-screen. If I attempt to keep playing with the graphics distorted like this, eventually the game locks up the PC completely, requiring a reboot. Also, turning the graphics down to extreme performance delays the onset of the problem by about 10 minutes or so.

I have tried every driver, including the recommended ones, and there are definitely ones that work better than others (the 174.xx series seems to be best so far).

Has anyone else seent his type of problem? Any recommendations on what I can do?

I suggest using the default UI. If the problem persists you might try deleting the UI folder and let everything download again and then use the default UI again. If the problem persists I am out of ideas =) Could be worse you could get a black screen off and on like me. Haven't been able to play EQ2 since LU44.
