I was noticing that this taunt does about the same thing as Villify except for the interupt and of course Divide forces half the encounter to target you for a few seconds. The Master's are about the same in terms of amount of hate generated. The thing is, I see Divide at the Broker for much less plat than Villify. So again, am I missing something? Is Divide as good as Villify in terms of hate generated to the whole encounter? It is 20-25P vs 60P fer Villify.

Also, is there any particular way anyone uses Divide that they can share which has been very helpful to you, other than just using it as a regular group taunt. Any special circumstances?

I know I have been saving mine for when I have a group on me and I lose agro. But I am thinking I can use it before that to avoid losing agro <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

Thanks.

I find it useful in PvP and as a kind of ghetto-Rescue on single targets too because it forces them to target you. Good for when that assassin/wizzy goes to nuts and Drag is down. (Though usually if people pull aggro off me they deserve to die and I let 'em.)Personally I think we got royally [Removed for Content] over on our lvl 80 'special' CA...but that's another post entirely.

Main reason why D&C is cheaper is due to the recast timer of 1 minute vs. 20 seconds for Vilify. I tend to use Vilify and Boil for standard group pulls, but if the mobs don't stick to me then I throw up D&C as well. I probably should use drag more often but due to its useful range and it not generating additional hate, I end up using it rarely for standard fights. Drag is very useful for moving casters that refuse to budge, so you can get them away from roamers etc.

D&C is pretty useful though when dealing with inconsiderate warlocks and wizards especially when they aggro half the pull. But then if a wizard or warlock is inconsiderate, there is nothing you can do to keep in it off of them even including rescue.

At first, I wasn't really thrilled with our lvl 80 "new" spell. But it started to grow on me. It is a force taunt, which forces half of your target encounter to target and attack you as well as adding hate for the entire encounter. Just like Owain, I use it alot in pvp. In a good many of my guild's pvp groups, I find myself the only fighter in the group so it's up to me to keep our targets off of our healers and casters.

I have Boil and Villify mastered as well as my D&C, and I find that D&C seems to be resisted alot less than Boil and Villify; in pve as well as pvp. The reason for the higher cooldown on D&C is because it's sort of a taunt over time. The only thing that I don't like about D&C is that it's not an option along with Boil and Villify in completing our HO's.

It's certainly very handy when you're in an instance and that pesky wizard or warlock isn't managing his or her agro very well. Drag is a great option for getting a mob off of a groupmate quick, but you have to be in melee range to use drag. If a caster is further than melee range behind you and over agro's a mob, D&C is a best option to get it back to you quickly.

In pvp, you don't have the increase threat to the other half of the encounter, you only have the force target to half of the encounter. But all taunts in pvp are force targets since there is no "hate list" in pvp.
