My Assassin is now L 68, and I've gotten there without understanding a thing about what a Proc is or a Parse.... I don't Raid, I do PvE only, don't solo unless finishing lower level quests because I can't survive well.I've tried to Search for answers but the posts are eiter too old to be relevant, or full of procs and parses so I understand about 1 phrase in 10 sadly. Also they are for Raiders or PvP players, so I can't find answers that fit my play style. What does Proc mean, and what does Parse mean? And for the benefit of someone who is not up on that, who plays with a small Guild, and as stated above, doesn't Raid or PvP ... Which are the best poisons to use? Looking at the Assassin AA tree, the poison ones are all for poisons that dispel Hate (Ignorant Bliss) or Hemotoxin I think it is. Another player on my server said he found Grandmaster's Enfeebling, Vitality Breach and Turgur best, but it seems that now my poison hardly ever activates compared to before GU 44 - I Maxed out the INT tree in Predator to get the extras for my poisons. Don't know if that is because of the poisons I am now using or not.Do the Assassin AA Tree poison skills that favor Ignorant Bliss & Hemotoxin do that only for Raiders? I know Hemo is a good poison, I used it before changing to the 3 I now use, but although it seems daft to not keep up with the poison AA, not much point if they are for Raiders and I never Raid.I'd appreciate some advice, please. Thanks.

Parse is the method used to evaluate your overall damage in a particular fight. Proc is the chance at which a particular poison/ability hits.

If your maxing out the poisons line in the Assassin tree to get to frontload and your not raiding I would just go with the others. I believe you need to spend 20 points in poisons to get frontload and there are 5 poison abilities you can put 5 points in so you only need to upgrade 4 of them. Apply poisons is good for grouping. The snare and hemotoxins are good for solo/grouping and the others are ign bliss and attribute poison upgrades.

Im not sure how good the attr poisine line would be for pve actually. Id think its better for PvP. Maybe Ign bliss would be the better of the two.

There are alot of setups you can go with and despite what you may hear from others Ive experimented with all the lines and have found them all to be useful.

Ive currently switched to Agi/Wis and Im loving it so far. Requires more moving around but I kill things much quicker and can get all my stealth attacks off.

Thanks. Will have another look at my Assassin AA tree, and give the other Predator Tree combos a try.I maxed STR and INT on Predator and it was OK till GU 44, now my spell from that of Poison combo doesn't seem to go off nearly as often as it did before GU 44 and me putting AA points in the Assassin Tree.So far I've only put some AA in the Stabs skills and the Garrote/Jugular. I find when we group, which is mostly in a Guild group of 3, I use the Stealth skills to start an encounter, then the rest of the time I'm front/side hitting, and occasionally can get round behind. Most encounters are quick cos our 3 toons are Zerker L 70 and SK L 70 and me, now, but the odd tough one where I have more time to Stealth again or use the poison combo hit, my poisons don't always go off. I get the message "Need to be poisoned to use this skill."We're on an EU server as Guild leader couple are from Aus and I'm in California - we played another game together then moved to this one and it is usually quiet when we play cos of the time differences with the rest of EU. We're L 25 Guild and got there mostly by the 3 of us - because we don't like the big group Raids, and new members usually decide they do, they tend to leave for the bigger Guilds. Not a problem for us, having been part of a bigger Guild originally, we prefer small as we do support our new members more than the big guild did. It does make for unique problems though.

Just a bit of trivial for you."Proc" is actually short hand for "special procedure" from the original MUD days, and referred to a snippet of code that would be triggered randomly. Later on in the orginal EQ this same idea was introduced with weapons by having a hook for a "Processed effects" that could be linked in and triggered at random. Now a days, any type of randomly triggered effect is normally referred to as simply a proc.In terms of poisons,For solo play, where the average encounter lasts less than 15sec, you'll want:Red: LifetapBlue: attack slowPurple: Melee stat debuffOr replace the lifetap with the large upfront direct damage. For group encounters, replace your blue with a hate reduction. If you are doing content where the target lasts more than 15 seconds, replace your DD/lifetap with a high damage DOT, and if possible open with a ranged base volley to try to maximize the probability of getting that DOT on the target at the begining.
