Please do something about this messed up update, lu44 made everything worse. Aside from frequent runtime 2gb crashes, theres a new crash that i never experienced before:

runtime error

R6025

pure virtual function call

Now this is a quote from microsoft site regarding the R6025 error: Calling a pure virtual function is a programming error, so you need to find the call to the pure virtual function and rewrite the code so it is not called.

I was not grouped when this happened, in Gorowyn.

I have gotten 2 C++ runtime error crashes today, one out of memory crash, and one unrecoverable error crash.I've been getting crashes every single day since the patch. Crashes I have never received before. I'm getting tired of having to reboot 5-6 times a day because of these crashes. (I have a dual-core system and if I don't reboot after closing down the game, I get speed-bugged when I log in, and either move WAY too fast or WAY too slow.)Prior to GU44, I had received one out of memory crash.... ever... and no other crash... in the past... 6 months? or so, that I've been back playing again. This is on top of the ridiculous chop and odd lag I've been getting (as well as my husband and many people I know), again, since the patch. What's up?

Truth be told, the game does run much better in the pre-expansion areas like antonica, ts, everfrost and so on. But in Faydark and especially Gorowyn, it seems to be worse. Using win xp i was able to play without the runtime crashes before. Yes the shadows were lost most the time which was frustrating but no crashes. Now i still lose the shadows and get the runtime crash quite often.

It makes no difference if im grouping or solo, symptoms are always the same, game starts chopping and if i continue to move, i crash with the runtime error message.

It only happens in the expansion areas. Gorowyn is the worst, followed by Kelethin and Lesser Faydark. Never happened in another area after the last patch.

Try typing "/force_low_mem_mode 1" into the chat bar when you get into the game. This command will prevent virtually all of such crashes. Unfortunately, you will have to do this every time you restart the game. Game Update #44 was supposed to introduce the client's ability to enable this low-memory mode by itself but for some reason it's not sensitive enough and is not being turned on in most cases.

Right now im messing with the graphic settings in order to find a "sweet spot" where i would still have the graphic candy and not crash....i think im on the right track, only one crash today and i played all day.

Basically thats the main problem, avoid crashes while maintaining as much graphic candy as possible. It would be easy to just lower the settings in order to avoid any crash but then the game looks really crappy.

It would be very helpful if i knew what are the graphic settings that have the most impact on triggering this runtime error crash.

It would save me a lot of time wasted on trial and error messing with the settings.

Also, download and update C++ Library 2008.

Thank you, I'll download the C++ update and see if that helps that particular crash. I've noticed one thing about that - I seem to mainly I get the C++ crash anytime I've fiddled with LoN during my current play session. It's never happened when I haven't (...so far).About the "/force_low_mem_mode 1" - if I've only had one crash in over 6 months of playing, and suddenly I'm getting up to a half dozen a day (since the day of the patch)... this makes it seem that it's an issue with the patch. Not an issue with my system, which has been running at a customized High-to-Very-High Quality setting this entire time I've been back playing (>6 months), with no problems. Would I still need to do this?Any advice appreciated!(About this happening in the expansion areas, as kabaro mentioned: I spend the vast majority of my time in Kunark, so I can't really compare it to elsewhere.)
