First off, I been playing this game for 29 months nearly and never had this sort of problem, when i run the 'EQ2.exe' it starts scanning the files but when it checks against the md5 I assume I eventually get a timeout. Now I know what you are thinking; it must be a connection problem. Well its what I thought so I tried various websites, tried different online games, downloaded programs etc to check my connection and its absolutely fine. My next idea was to check the router just by chance it had decided to ban the ports that EQ2 might use, but that came clear because I bypassed the router completely and ran straight from the modem and I still had the same issues. I am using XP 64 and its recently a fresh install (around 1 week old) with latest drivers and so forth. I have also checked the windows firewall, and my virus scanners and they are not stopping EQ2 from running. I would appreciate some feedback, I believe I've checked most settings and so forth. Just another side note, I didn't have this problem before the latest update which was Thursday 10th April. Regards,Phased

ok i had exactly the same problem yesterday - which was made worse by being unable to access the sony forums - or any other sony game- each time i tried oe the launcher timed out and gave me anetwork error provblem. iim close to cambriidge to and im guessing you are using virgin media as your isp? just a suggestion - because yesterday i could not access the gamer and yet today i can - im thinking it was an isp problem - i tried all the tricks with the routor /modem like yourself and could talk to friends on vent/msn, but no sony forums or games for me.hopefuully this is an isp probleem that has been sorted out. I am not positive, but it seems the most likely to me atm. this may be blind faith i know - but ...:p

Black, after reading your post and trying the game again, its now working absolutely fine. Thanks for your response and yes I am using virgin media as my ISP. I guess it was the Papworth exchange error since I knew other Virgin media users playing the game fine. Thanks once again and have a nice day!Regards,Phasedd
