Killing all Named each tier - anyone done this?

Well Ive come back to EQ2 recently and I am going to start some fresh toons (Illusionists and a Troub).Ive done the normal route of leveling via questing.This time I think I want to try killing all the Named mobs I can, and getting all the Discovery AA prior to doing any quests.I'm  not a min/maxer or power gamer.  I don't have a lot of time to play, will never raid, and don't care a hoot about loot.  I will probably make my own armor, weapons and spells.  (I am boxing, so I'll be grouping the whole time)Has anyone been able to kill all the Named mobs in the Green to Orange range as they level?Ive been looking up Named on EQ2i, and will track them down via EQ2maps.  Any better method or database floating around? Comments and suggestions appreciated.Thanks,Mal

Comments and suggestions appreciated.Thanks,Mal</blockquote>On my newest alt, a mystic, I spent a lot of time refering to the map, and running from red dot to red dot, looking for nameds.  Some spawn so infrequently that it makes your idea something of a challenge.  Also, a lot of named mobs are part of quests...without the quest, you won't be able to spawn the mob.

Dngr,Thanks for the reply.  I wasnt thinking about the quest portion of the Nameds.So would you say its just pointless to do it?  I'll be using a Troub for speed buff, and Illusionists with Invis.  I'm hoping it wont be too difficult.I wouldn't wait for a spawn.  And I figure I will try to get all the Discovery AA in the zone as well, so I guess I'd be running around anyways.I'm not trying to powergame for max AA's, but since Im starting fresh I figured I'd try to knock them out now.  I really detest the idea of having to group with lowbies to kill Named's - not that I would mind helping someone else.  I just think the idea is silly.I'll give it a shot and try to put together a list as I'm doing it.  Can't seem to find a good database that lets you search and sort Named by loc and if quest mob.  With EQ2i you have to click on each to find out level and loc.Thanks again,Mal

<p>Just duo you will never get all the named in each tier.    Just won't have enough fire power to get to the ones in some instances and dungeons.</p><p>If you are set on it, fire up a pair of brawlers and you got a better chance to FD flop to them and then a pair of them might have a better chance, but doubtful.   By the time you get them to green, you still won't have enough ommph to handle them all.</p><p>And as stated, you got long timers and some, quest trigger only named and of course contested ones..</p><p>Not sure the reason for this though if you are not into the loot.  AA wise questing will work well.   Your comment about hating to group with lowbie is ironic.  You ARE the lowbie bud..   </p>

There are so many "true" named (not quest) each tier, that you will easily outlevel them just getting to them. If you wanted to do that, you will have to level lock each tier. On my guardian, I got all the named in all dungeons of the original game, with the exection of the mobs in The freeport side and starting areas. So no Serpent sewers, no graveyards ect. ect. And yes, I am including all epic named, from ladon, to Anguis, all the way to Venekor in CT. Takes ALOT of time and essentially, just level lock yourself and level through quests only.

I'm actually five boxing, but I will be running Illusionists and Troubadour (or Illusionists/Fury).  But now that I think about it, maybe a Wizard, Troub and three Illuisionists would work.And I didnt say I hate to group with lowbies.I said "<span class="postbody">I really detest the idea of having to group with lowbies to kill Named's - not that I would mind helping someone else.  I just think the idea is silly."  Big difference.I do plan on level locking and just doing named and discovery.  Then doing quests if the discovery isnt leveling me to continue doing green to orange nameds.StormCinder, thanks much for the Allakhazam link.  Sounds like exactly what Im looking for.Mal</span>

<p>I actually started doing this myself on Nagafen pvp server 3 months ago....however due to my wife having our 3rd child, i havnt played in a while but will be doing again soon.</p><p>Currently I keep track of all the named I killed through notepad, and have 37 and I am level 12..i have been level locked, I am working on all the zones through bells in Qeynos right now, and camp them 1 by 1 until i get em. Dont care how long it takes me, I just want to do it =)</p>

Valreaen, I admire your fortitude.  Realistically I dont see myself campin g.  I hate camping and farming.  I dont mind the r unning and exploring, but if I have to wait around  for something, its just not going to happen.   Yeah, please submit whatever you find to EQ2i and Allakhazam.Im trying to put a list together, but I also have VERY limited play time.  So if I get into the 20s before the game actually fold I will be amazed.Mal
