can anyone give some good ideas for a really good ranged weapon item? It doesn't actually have to be a weapon,, just something good for that slot. I hear something about symbols being good? Anyways im lvl 42 so anything around there would be great. Thanks!

Grab a bow with Sta/Agi for when your tanking and a Symbol with Int for when your not

Armguard of the Farseer is the symbol you should be going for. It drops in COA but I've only seen it drop once and I was lucky enough to win it

As for a bow, get something with a decent range

To be honest, Ive actually never used a bow--I purely solo so just never really used one...is this something I should start doing? And a symbol is the best thing to get for soloing?

In pvp a ranged weapon is a must.. with very few ways to slow down runners.. My bow has taken many who try to escape in the red..
Any symbol with a viral ornament slapped on is nice

If you're not using a bow (and if your ranged skill is not at max or close) you're really gimping yourself. Since our aggro depends a lot on damage, it's very important to get good "upfront" damage. You can body pull, run back, and still get an arrow hit of +1k plus (at lvl 42) in and then start cycling your taunts / dots / nukes (spell order advice free of charge!). When solo'ing... pulling with your Snare / Dot line, throwing an arrow, and then using your pet... once again a lot of upfront damage. Hell that even works in groups when you don't need to body pull. If you're not tanking, then yes it's probably a good idea to just use a range with high INT or Str depending on your stat balance.

If you have enough faction with the Sel'Nok in Jarsath Wastes to buy it, I think the Warlord's Long Bow of Defense is a pretty good option when tanking.

That's what I get for skimming... Someone else suggested something from CoA, so I think that has the same issue. :pAnyway, I guess it's something they can look forward to. :p

The Longarm Bow, think its about level 37, is a great bow through level 80. Doesnt do a lot of damage but it is a cheap broker bow with 40 meter range. Not as your only bow, but its very useful with its extreme range.Woeman 80/140 SK

Perhaps a bow with a proc and some decent status, like the an imbued mastercrafted bow? I've done some sizable damage when multiple arrow shots proc, which is a good way to start a fight.

OP isn't high level, but all you people suggesting bows and whatsnot for tanking should look up Pristine Incarnadine Tablet. Any crusader that isn't using this for tanking is not max defensive (highend raiding crusaders might have access to better, dunno). +35 sta, +35 agi, +5 parry and +5 defense.. 578 vs all resists and +90 power. It's made by a jeweler can probably be bought off the broker for 50g.

Levelling up to 80 I generally used whatever symbol was available mastercrafted. Cheap and easy.

Armguard is better for what purpose? Tanking? no..

It's better for overall DPS, but for tanking I would take +5 def/parry and +35 agi any day over +2 crit and 48 str/int.
