View Full Version : Error when trying to load game

I can log onto my account and update through my patcher just fine, but as soon as my comp goes to launch the actual game, I get a fatal error message saying:

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown. <verify> E:liveeq2frameworkcoredevicessrcDirectX9RenderDevi ce.cpp (1019): DirectX Error. (D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE) I thought it may have been a bad download from the original disc, but I've found this isn't the case since I've tried reinstalling the game 3 times now from 2 different sets of discs and done a full file scan, as well as resetting all of my preferences/game options to default from the Launchpad. I also have patched my DirectX driver and the messages say I am up to date. Why is it I am still having issues loading my client?

I've traversed the Troubleshooting forums here, as well as checking the screen resolution values in my eq2_default.ini and eq2_recent.ini and nothing has seemed out of order.

I have been having that error as a crash while playing. That and the E_outofmemory errors....I updated my graphics card in the last month and since then, I have been having these crashes... I havent been able to figure them out either The dev told me to use a driver cleaner program to clean out my old drivers... it didnt seem to help, but perhaps for you it might....

After updating to GU44 I am getting exactly the same error (as OP) when trying to log into the game, not only can I no longer play EQ2. I can no longer load *ANY* game I have installed. I have re/installed DX9 and Video drivers.. my other games work again. However, if I try to load EQ2 again.. the same thing happens. Anyone have a fix for this? Please.

I know this does not make sense but i have heard of some ppl deleting the windows update patch ( somewhere around 04.06.08 to 04.08.09) there is 4 of them and it stops the E:/live/eq2 ..... error from happening.

Couldnt hurt to try... just got to control panel->add and remove software and then just put a check next to "Show Dates"

Then remove all 4 patches and reboot.

If it doesnt work windows will download them again and next time your turn your PC off it will auto update (depending how you have you PC setup)
