SKs are far from gimped until raids because there's only so many raid slots to go around and while we can shine in a few encounters other classes arguably bring more overall.

SKs are a plate tank class that specialize in non linked AoE Encounters. We have the survivablity and tools to laugh at instances were you get outside adds without a mezzer. Even with a mezzer, they're just hindering the group DPS most of the time if they try to "save" the group by mezzing.

I'd try to use 2h'ers as much as your survivability allows, as it nets quite a bit more melee DPS on average. Stats? Combination of Str / Sta / Int.

AA Lines... Go down the Int line to get max spell crit. Afterwards, I went down Sta? for the AoE Stun and melee Crits... then Str and put 1 point in the Haste buff... Finally went down the Reaver line. I usually tanked AND parsed at or near the top of every group I was in, so I'd say that set-up was effective

Tips:

a) Bows are your friend

b) pull order of: Snare, Arrow, Temp pet = win

c) Death March as much as possible

d) Use your knockdowns and then use your long casting spells to prevent interrupts (Hammer, then Tap Arteries ftw)

e) Have a smart spell order for both AoE and single target encounters.

If you're low level and dont' have access to TD armor or Mastercrafter armor, I don't know what to tell you. Pretty much any class is going to suck under those circmumstances. Work on getting your gear up to par and at least get Adept Is. Selling rares you havest at low levels can be quite profitable.
