I contacted SOE wia telephone and this is the email I was sent. They said My netgear need a new port opened. How do I do that with this information? I know how to log into the netgear but am unsure of what to do after that. I have a port block, forward and Trigger option.

Also what IP address do I enter? I got to Whatismyip.com and it gives me an IP different from the router ip address. Say for instanc my router is 123.45.6.78 and the site says my IP is 78.901.2.3. DO I enter my specific address if forwarding?

Sony Online Entertainment does not support the use of firewalls and proxies, including cable/DSL NAT routers, campus and office networks, or any type of Internet connection sharing services. However, in an effort to assist you in configuring your systems on your own, we would like to provide the following information which may help you in setting up your router or firewall to work with EverQuest II.EverQuest II LaunchPad and Patch Servers A TCP connection is initiated from the LaunchPad client port > 1023 to patch.station.sony.com port 7000. A UDP connection is initiated from the LaunchPad client port > 1023 to sdlaunchpad1.station.sony.com and sdlaunchpad2.station.sony.com port range 3016-3021 and 9700-9703.EverQuest II Patch:A TCP connection is initiated from the EverQuest II client port > 1023 to patch.everquest2.com, abepatch.everquest2.com, laepatch.everquest2.com, or amspatch.everquest2.com at port 7010. Some of the above patchers resolve to multiple IP addresses, so if you have a strict outbound firewalling policy, be sure to check for all IP addresses using a DNS lookup tool.EverQuest II Game Client:UDP connections are initiated from the EverQuest II client port >1023 to servers on UDP ports 9100, and UDP ports in the range 32800-33000. Additionally, ICMP messages type 0 (echo reply), 3 (unreachable), 8 (echo request) and 11 (expired) should be permitted bi-directionally between the client PC and the EverQuest II servers.EverQuest II Servers Subnets:There are multiple IP addresses for the Patch and LaunchPad clusters, and they may change as the network demands, so check often using a DNS lookup tool if you provide a specific firewall rule for these services. The EverQuest II server IP addresses are currently in these subnets: 64.37.158.*, 199.108.11.*, 199.108.12.*, 199.108.13.*, 199.108.202.*, 199.108.203.*, 195.33.135.* Generic Firewall Configuration Instructions:The following information may assist you in setting up your firewall software if you are having connectivity problems with EverQuest II. It is recommended that you follow these steps only if you are having difficulty connecting to the servers or are experiencing random disconnections in EverQuest II. Is there a specific reason that you need a port forwarded to your machine? EverQuest 2 should be able to patch and run without any firewall router adjustments and even windows based software firewalls. If you really need to port forward you need to set "Port Forwarding" of the ports described in the article below to your INTERNAL computer IP address. To get this address open command prompt and type "ipconfig /all" without the quotes. Look for lines similar to below.Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection: Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-04-4B-05-C0-3C DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.10.3 Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.10.1 DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 199.249.19.1 199.249.19.2The important part is IP Address.....This is what you put for the Port Forward IP address, not your external IP. I would also recommend setting your computer to a static IP rather then DHCP. If your router hands your computer a different IP address in the next several days, weeks, months the changes you made are pointless. If you do not know how to setup a static IP I would Google it first, its pretty easy.Let me give you a brief overview how routers/nat works. Basically I have an external IP Address of 96.234.161.147 which is how the world gets to my computer and how I get to the world. Basically you can hook a PC up to this address but it is NOT recommended as per it it opens up your entire computer to the world. Now comes along routers. Routers have built in firewalls which blocks all incoming traffic unless other wised noted by a NAT (Port Forward). What does this mean, when you port forward your system say port 1023 anyone in the world who access port 1023 to your IP address your personal computer will respond. This can be good and bad, there are reasons to port forwards else no one could ever get to your machine, ie: if you run a web server or services. Read this it should help you out a lot: http://portforward.com/help/pfprogression.htm

KK now trace is active but still having same issues with Loading UI resources. I actually have great xfer until that spot. I put a port forward in my router to my internal IP address for port range of 3016 - 3021, 9700 - 9703, and 32800 - 33000. Should I changer my router to do a static IP instead of dynamic IP? Any other ideas on ports or anything else? I never had to do this till my motherboard blew up and I had to replace the whole rig.

Your router is currently 192.168.0.1 which has to be a static IP address else you would never get anywhere. If you set port forwarding I really recommand you change yourself to Static IP. Once your DHCP lease expires you have a chance of loosing your IP Address which will make all your port forwarding invalid. I also notice that you have a DHCP lease of only 1 hour?
Lease Obtained. . . . . . . . . . : Monday, April 07, 2008 8:05:38 PM

Lease Expires . . . . . . . . . . : Monday, April 07, 2008 9:05:38 PM

Please verify this, one hour in my opinion is WAY to short unless you are a large network such as a school. If possibvle instead of using port forwarding, use port triggering intead. Does the same thing that port forwarding does but does not restrict to a single ip nor is it affected by dhcp lease being renewed to a different IP address. Most newer home level routers allow this functionality to be done

As far as triggering is concerned what range would I use based upon the email sent to me from SOE?
