So what kind of system DO you need? SOE's?

So, my system is the following..All cooled by 'Koolance 1000w Water Supply.Intel core 2 duo E6600 O'clocked at 3.4GHZ.2GB Corsair DominatorEVGA GeForce 8800 UltraEVGA 680i Motherboard.Win XP Pro SP 2All drivers up to date, etc.I absolutely love EQ2.. i moved from WoW and will never go back.  SOE, please help me by telling me.. what system do you guys use to take all your screenshots?  How do YOU have all your shadows turned on and all the lights on and all textures MAX without dropping to 2FPS?  Currently, my system is at high with all lights turned off and all shadows turned off.  I run at about 50FPS.  With everything I want turned on, i run at about 5FPS.  My system is hardcore..  I run COD4 with max settings at 90FPS.. I know its not my system.So does ANYONE run at complete full max settings in EQ2 and run at top FPS?  According to SOE pictures and screenshots from EQ2, everything is on max.. people ive talked to on my server doesnt know a single person who can run at max and still be able to play smoothly.  Dont you think the screenshots you are posting, SOE, are misleading then?I dont mean this to be a rant at all SOE, i think you guys are great..  But please, tell me what system your running at your offices that can take those screenshots/videos with all those settings maxed.  Please tell me so perhaps i can replicate.Thank you!

Personally, I use <a href="http://www.research.ibm.com/journal/rd49-23.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this</a> setup.  I can run multiple instances of EQ2 at max settings...

One thing you have to remember about the screenshots you're looking at. It never implies that the person taking them can move at the settings they're at. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> I can crank the settings on my dinosaur computer and have it look nearly the same as the screenshots, but I can't move due to lag and the 1 fps frame rate.

I hear they are looking into it though.

I hear they are looking into it though.</blockquote><p>Run on a</p><p>1. 680I Asus, with a E6600, no overclock, BFG 7950GX2 - runs fine in high display with shadows off - Vista Ulitmate SP1 </p><p>2. 680I Asus, with a Core 2 Extereme QX6850, no over clock, 2 BFG 7950GX2 and a 7900GS - runs fine in high display with shadows off - Vista Ultimate SP1</p><p>only difference is I got rid of the 8800's in all the systems, it appears that 90 percent of the higher end boxes that are expierencing issues have the 8800 in it. Have a set of 9800GX2's  icoming, will be curious to see if the performance issue comes back when I replace the 7950GX2's</p>

<p>I have a similar set up as described by Wingrider01. Prior to the release of ROK i could run a single instance on the highest settings. I could run two instances on balanced. Both with very good frame rates.</p><p>Since ROK, performance has dropped substantially. This happens every expansion. Performance inprovements are made and about 3 months before the next expansion the game runs great again.
