So, I have been raiding with my guild for 4 monhts now, I still feel like a newb to raiding, but yet, know enough to ask these questions.

For those of you in the Off Tank role, I am curious what you like to bring to a raid, I have been stacking my +DA, +PARRY, +DEF+MELEE ATTACK, +SPELL DAMAGE, +CRIT CHANCES, and in doing so, have acquired all the top non raid gear I can. We have completed Thuuga, and First 4 mobs in PR, we can't defeat pawbuster or doomcoil yet, we have figured out that we need to get our dps up quite a bit, and I realy want to do my part, you guys have been great getting spell orderd, casting, and other things up, but lets talk raid now.

IN a raid, I typically hand over avoidance/mit, and constantly use intercede, is this necessary?

Raid leader wants to use my mit and avoidance, and it seems that when i forget to put it on, it makes a big difference, how much difference does that make, Grant of Armament, and Resolute Faith.?

Do you guys use INtercede in your casting? Do you use your Ward as well?

I got the Staff of the Impaler instead of the Spine of the Sporkikis, and not sure it was the best decision, is there a way to redo the quest and get the spine? Do you guys use a 2 hander instead of the board and sword when you off tank? I dont cause you cant switch weapons out in the middle of a fight, so if tank goes down, i try to keep the shield equipped.

Every day, I find a way to squeeze out some more dps, and in a raid, I am considering a 2 hander instead. Just want to get your quality expertise here on this, thanks guys. If I'm lucky, I parse 1500-1600 seems to be my highest so far, got 1,800 once, but remember, just top end non raid gear with a lot 2p adornments, (+16 whatever) Chose some wisdom , and stamina ones, but that is my next step is to see if my strength maybe too low, its 650 self buffed. Thanks.

You can change weapons in fights. I think its once per 2 second or something so to switch between a 2hander and a 1h+shield it would take you a few seconds. I didn't got much raid experiance yet wihtt my pally but ill give my opnion on your question

1) Yes every buff count and are important. Its like a scout that forget to put poisons on, you wont see a big difference right away but in the end, the difference will be considerable.

2) Personally, I dont think I would use a 2hander over a 1h and shield. Mainly due to our Shield Effectiveness (sp?) when offtanking and the need of us to do intercede unless your raid is very tank heavy and you will not be ask to tank.

3) No they is no way for you to redo the quest. The only way for you to get another quest reward is to petition and talk to a gm but it highly unlikely. But if you need a 1hander, just do CoA daily until you get that Sword from the boss (6 sec delay with taunt proc), pretty sure its prolly one of the best 1hander for tanking pre raiding.

Many choice of gear will come from how your guild use you. If they expect you to be the tank that take over right after the MT die, then I would focus on +parry def and all the defensive gear. If they use you mainly as a support class, then you could go with a 2hander with more offensive gear (+da, crit, spell dmg, heal, etc). You might also consider macroing your 2 or 3 set of gear (tank, dps, healing) to make your job lot easier to switch between gear for different names.

As for your DPS, you can get ACT with the double attack plugin. You can set it up that it make a beep each time you auto attack. Beep, do 1 to 3 CA, wait for next beep, etc. But for this, I am really not sure if its worth waiting so lol. I just dont really worry bout my dps when I bring my pally to a raid.

For your parsing numbers in raid, its really hard to judge since your dps can change a lot depending what class you have in your group but I think if you do between 1k to 1.5k depending on your group and/or fights your doing good.

hope that helps

You can switch weapons in fight..................... Get a better 2Her. Yes, I use intercede often since it is instacast. Wards only if I have to.

Make hotkeys for all your weapons/sheilds and equip/unequip as required, if DPS/patch healing most of the time then I use 2h in offensive. If OT I use Sword and Board.

Use earlier level Def/Off stance to vary the levels of Off/Def as required, I also ues earlier level amends when I dont want agro but want to take the edge of a Nukers agro. Play around a see what works.

The effectiveness off your avoidance buff is determined by your own avoidance. When I use mine on the MT, we find that it adds 10 to 20% avoidance. So, by being in defense stance with a shield you will be more useful here than you will in Offense mode. Also, you can use parry food/drink to boost that for tough fights.

I use our Mit transfer very rarely, and only on Tough Fights. It's like adding an extra BP to your armor set. But, if you are needing to OT it might be too painful to use. Conversely, if you only need to pick up the mob when the tank dies, the mit debuff goes away so there is no reason to not use it.

You can switch your shield and sword in for a 2h weapon and vice versa. It's just something that takes time. 2 seconds between equips so it takes a bit of time to swap modes.

You might be able to petition the GM and swap the weapons from Aniphalaxis. I know that I've heard of people able to get things back that they sold because it was an important DPS piece. And that's after Buy Back was implemented.

You will find that buffs are very important to your Parse. I'm finding that 50%+ of my DPS is from auto attack. Getting DPS mod/ Haste / Double attack helps out a ton there.
