<p>Since the skeletal revamp seems to be "in the works" STILL, can we please get a look at the colors of the T8 dropped robes?  I'm talking just the color now not the graphic since I realize at this time, that's next to impossible to change.  We have oodles of really awesome sounding names for robes, but when I see the word ocean or flame, I think of colors associated with those names, not brown, brown and did I mention more brown or an ugly shade of grey green?  Also, to add, when I see a name that includes the phrase "___ ___ of Light", I don't think of brown, sorry.  Since we do not have the option to wear these items as a robe or a tunic, which is on my wish list, can we maybe get these reworked with some color that actually even remotely is given away in the name of the item?  /rant off</p><p>I appolgize for my rant, but frankly I'm getting really tired of having to go back to very low tiers to find items to wear in my appearance slot.  I feel so many robes are completely wasted, because there is absolutely no difference between them. </p><p>Here are exhibit A & B, which have many, many names, but only share these two colors..</p><p><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc240/vegakat/eq2/drabdress2.jpg" alt="" width="364" height="550" border="0" /><img src="http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc240/vegakat/eq2/drabdress1.jpg" alt="" width="373" height="563" border="0" /></p><p>I was going to list them all, pics and names, but I'm sure you all know what I am talking about with these pics alone.</p>

<p>Well I will say one thing for the OTHER RPG's out there. . . .they do have better clothes. I  too would like to see nicer. .more stylish clothes out there in Norrath. . I have traveled the worlds of Istan, Cantha and Agramar. . . .even the most remot lands of the Blood Elves (gee. .does anyone know what other games I play?) and I love all the clothes. .and the dances! (We need more and better of those too but this is a clothing issue). . .but I always come home to Norrath for game play. </p><p> Better clothes? A resounding YES. When can we expect them? I'm up for designing. . . .anyone??</p>

I second the call for new T8 colors. The current colors are the shade of ... baby poo and maybe .. puke. Not really colors I want to go showing off in Norrath.Wouldn't mind seeing a few of those turned into vests, either.  If they were different colors.  And not Acid, Day glo tones, either.  The one person I've seen wearing the Acid Yellow stuff was blinding.  It was HIDEOUS.  And they were only showing what the entire set looked like and quickly replaced their alternative gear over it.  *blinks*  I can't unsee it... it's reflecting on my inner eye.  ugh. It's just really disappointing to go into a new expansion and find that most of the gear for casters is ... well, the color of baby poo.

<p>It does strike me as odd and not just for caster gear either. Through the years (and this goes back to EQ1 as well) when they are selecting colors it is always something odd. Brown, orange, pink, purple, fire engine red. They invariably refuse to use richer looking colors. It is either blah or clown like. Ever hear of dark blue, dark green, burgundy or hey, just for laughs, maybe black? Any of the darker colors with gold or silver accents could look really nice but we rarely see them. </p><p>It just is hard to imagine, for some of these creations, that the artist sits back and says "wow, now that looks really good". I think its more like "wow, they will look really stupid wearing this, hehe". </p>

<p>Yeah, there's some fundamental and rudimentary basics of art and design being neglected, that's for sure. </p><p>Things like constrasting and complimentary colours (<i>trim colours</i>). Colours used to evoke. Knowing not to highlight red with white (<i>unless you genuinely want pink, level 20's zerker class set, I'm looking at you</i>). Horizontal and verticals used for the illusion of width and height respectively.</p><p>Though the biggest gyp is blatantly the repetition of the same models used ad nauseum. But that's something for the skeletal revamp to sort out. The colours though, that'd require artists that are artists rather than just knowing how to use the item creation toolsets they have. </p><p>Odd how we get rather gorgeous landscapes and zones, but seriously ropey items. </p>

I regard most of the T8 dropped equipment as strictly transmute fodder. And I kind of think that was the intention because they didn't really put a lot of effort into it. Its all rather generic and mostly looks the same. That said I'll join the zombie horse bashing party and say... Yes, robes need to look better. I would love to see robes more like those in EQ as well as some other games that don't feel like I should be curled up on the sofa sipping hot chocolate with my hair up in curlers. I fear the revamp will never come, at least not before I lose interest/patience. Or will underwhelm.I'm going guess both! But I played EQ for 4 years and EQ2 for 4 years... So maybe its time for something that is both pretty and fun and engaging.

There are already some seriously good looking robes out there. The Sacred tunic from New Tunaria comes to mind, all white with a nice embossed pattern, and a whole-name-escapes-me nightmare robe thats purple with darker purple embossed design (same embossed design actually). I have to agree I expect a ocean robe to be blue or sea colored. I especially hate all the mottled effects most robes have. And I'd love to have more 'dresses' in style. I know I know, I should be proud to fight in my incarnadine melodic gear, but I hate that red band across my chest, and well I'm a girl whos still in love with my purple and gold varsoon BP <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" width="15" height="15" />

Not a pretty blue in Jacksonville, FL Norfolk, VA Baltimore, MD Bath, ME Keflavik, Iceland, most of the Mediteranean or the middle of the Atlantic (even north part in winter) ...only place I did see the nice pretty blue was...yep the Caribbean. Just be glad they don't 'really' invoke the spirt of the sea...you will get weird jelly-fish pink saran-wrap graphics and blobs of greenish white sea-gull 'debris.'</p><p>That said I agree with everything else posted about need for better/different robes....ack 60 lvls in ugly bathrobes.</p>

It's awful.  The design of armor (term used loosely to include robes, etc) in general is poorly done.  I had made posts about this when RoK first came out and all i heard was fan-boi's storming the forums proclaiming this was the best thing they'd ever seen and who was i to rip on cotton candy pink armor!</p><p>I think the interns were put incharge of creating the look and style of gear in RoK.</p>

It would be nice, too, if some of those things called "vests" weren't the same blah robe!  Mages are a lot more limited in "looks" than any other class simply because all they can wear are robes, robes, more robes, and an occassional vest or tunic that's not actually another robe.

<p>Sony really needs to hire a fashion designer.  The clothing is all terrible.  Finally, in T8 we have blue.  But everyone in T8 now looks the same, blue, blue, blue.  </p><p>The appearance slot is nice.  I can look to all levels for a change of outfits.  I don't like those dressy fluff items that leave your character half naked and looking like a [Removed for Content].  </p><p>I'd like some better choices in actual armor. Most robes and cloaks are  awful with horrid busy prints and dull colors.  I'd love to have a cloth suit or flowing gown for my con juror in shades vibrant red.  Shades, not horrid flames in cream flickering all over the robe.  Not paisley.  </p><p>Plain black, dark blue, hunter green burgundy have all been suggested and all would be lovely.  Just leave out the garish patterns.  The bloomer look in female pants legs is cute, but there are no other choices.  Howabout giving us a pair of straight legged pants, or a skirt and blouse.  </p><p>I wish we had prismatic paint like EQ I.  I know this game wasn't designed for that and I don't expect miracles, but it would be nice if some of the crafted items could be made in a choice of colors.  Let the choice be limited for each item.  Now that there aren't four levels of every crafter made item, going from that first level to pristine, there should be room in the data base for some variations on the current armor, giving different color choices. </p><p>I agree with the next idea about every class needing an all black outfit.  I can't show my cloak usually because the cloaks look too garish with the wildly paterned armor.  I like the cloaks.  They are the best designed armor in the game despite their loudness.  One loud piece is ok, but not a few clashing ones.   </p>

It would be nice if a few of the leather and chain looks that more closely approach 'cloth' in visuals could be recolored and/or retextured and turned into cloth looks for mages.  I could be happy with that.   And have those hideous poo robes changed in color, at the very least.  ye gods ... ugh. And, in Kunark, almost every class got neat new shoulder graphics except mages.   I want lacey looking sleeves!!  *cries and goes off to eat comfort food*Addition:I agree with the above posters, other colors would rock.  Dark shades of Blue, Green, Red ... and some new shades of rich, deep orange and brown.   There are all kinds of interesting color combinations that could, just by changing them on existing armor, create brand new looks.   Above all, every class needs an all black combo without trim.  Or with trim that isn't White or some other high contrast color.I kinda wish there was a volunteer program for graphics in MMO's ... "Hey, I'll tint the armor, you don't have to pay me.  I just want to make things look a little cooler."  LOL ... not gonna happen, but I have often wished it could happen.  ((Too many variables to work, though)).

It would also be nice if they would put in a quality control check that if an item has a color in its name that it ACTUALLY IS THAT COLOR. There's nothing stupider than dressing room equipping a Crimson blah of wonderment and seeing the same padded quilt green and blue appearance of the level 1 armor because someone was too lazy to put 5 more minutes of effort into the item.
