Howdy, I've been having trouble lately running the game smoothly. I originally got Everquest 2 when it first came out, along with the computer Im using now. At the time and up to about a year ago I was able to run the game smoothly on mostly high settings if I was soloing, and smoothly on medium settings if I was in a group. Since then I've gotten a graphic's card upgrade from 128 mb to 512 mb and every other game I have plays significantly better than with the previous card. Everquest however is running awful, even in low population zones my graphics stutter almost unbearably on the lowest settings. Grouping is nearly impossible in that I am a tank class and my screen-shot like playing makes it brutal to even attempt to play with others much less keep track of mobs that seem to pop up like whack-a-mole's across my screen. Posted below are some specs of my computer: (Crappy I know, but hey I'm in college and paying for myself here)Gateway 825 GMIntel Pentium 4 Processor 550.3.4 GHZ, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache250 GB SATA HDOriginal Graphics Card: ATI Radeon x300 Se VIDEO - 128 MB PCI-Express CardNew Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro - 512 MB PCI-Express 1 GB DDRThe thing is I dont want to spend money, or..a lot of money to fix or upgrade my computer. It used to run just fine and I don't see how upgrading my graphics card would only negatively affect one game while making all my others (NWN 2, Call of Duty series, and others) run drastically better. I understand that EQ2 requires much more but I was just curious if anyone thought that perhaps its something else. I have had memory problems over the years and a couple of times had my computer fixed because of various problems. Any help or tips would be appreiciated. Thanks in advance.P.S. I have updated drivers and cleaned my hard drive..just in case anyone was going to mention those.

I take it you're running Win XP?If the graphics card is the only thing you've installed new then lets look at that, first when you removed the old card and driver did you run something like driver cleaner pro through our system to remove all traces of the old ATI drivers from your system? Have you updated Direct X to the latest version and tried alternative drivers such as earlier versions and/or modified drivers?Have you deleted the contents of your cache directory (in eq2 folder) since installing the new card? Im sure ive heard people say this can have some detrimental effect. Sadly systems can be so different its hard to specifically state where it could have gone wrong, go through the motions and hopefully itll all get sorted.

I've pretty much tried it all. Its definitely not the video card. I can play single player games just fine, but I cannot play those same games in multiplayer LAN/net modes.

I have more information on what I've tried and been suggested to me here, I am checking both sites so post wherever.

http://www.eq2flames.com/tech-suppo...-lag-issue.html
