What I would like to see is all the old tier raids scalable, I know about the loot problems and that some of the mobs would need tweeking.

But from a lore stand point it would make sense as a lot of these epics are supposed to be 'nails' hard and the levels are, really, there as a game mech, so... why not make the instance scalable to the raid?

They don't have to be as hard as the top end raiding stuff is now, but it could be used to gear up some of the smaller more casual raiding guilds, it would also mean that all that cracking content isn't lost.

I would love to go back and have another go at the angler as a T8 mob. Or even the Giant king in Permafrost! His AE knockback was always loads of fun!

I would also love to see some of the old zones reused in quest lines, like say the catacoombs under Qyenos, make it instanced and level 80 and that it needs to be cleared, a long dungeon crawl with a good chance at a few rare chest drops. (even if they are just master 1's in there or rares to get adpt3 made.) (not everyone has time to harvest all day but would make time to group with mates.)

It's been such a long time since we've used these areas they almost seem fresh again when you do go through them!

What do you think? Old for new?

I think EQ2 doesn't work that way and that it would take the content and itemization devs way too much time to implement to be cost effective. They can either work on new content or revamp old content. If they spend their time revamping old content, nothing new comes out and the art team gets sent home. However, if SOE were to hire a dev team devoted solely to revamping old content, I wouldn't complain. My Station Pass would probably go up again though.

It's easy to say "make content scalable" but it's not as simplistic to implement as the concept sounds. Games that hae true scaling content were designed for it from the get go. CoH/CoV comes to mind. EQ2 has always been more about the hand-crafted content over the generated scaling content. I prefer the former to the latter.

I think maybe you are looking at this too short sightedly.

First off I'm not suggesting to create new items and inventory for old epic zones. I think Just a small cash of Masters or even materials for adpt3 would be enough for a lot of people it's about being able to hit content without having to find someone with an alt that can me mentored by the raid.

As to another team... well they already have one of those that does that downloadable content like split paw and bloodlines, worked properly with a solid story line and a good series of quests you could feasibly reuse the catacoombs or runnyeye with no problems at all. Review them and see what new things you could think off, heck you could refer to that fact that your band of warriors came through here before moving on the story of the city a bit.

The artists wouldn't starve as they would still be able to work on the next "proper" expansion, failing that there would still be a need for some new content like Nameds or items.

The adv packs like bloodlines and splitpaw have long been discontinued in favor of larger expansions and larger game updates. Even then, at the current rate of update content we'd see a revamped dungeon maybe every three months and would miss out on something new being added as a trade off. It still not cost effective to do it large scale.

Having an instance that only dropped masters and rares? Sounds like a gold farmer's wet dream unless you made NoTrade versions of the master spells. As it stands, we do get a revamped dungeon periodically, but they largely abandonded the scaling content idea after DoF.
