Everytime I play the game seems to freeze (lag). Today I was playing and it froze for over 5minutes. I think its kind of ridiculous that I bought the game yet its hard as hell to play it. Really really frustrating....

P.S. I don't know if this is in the right forum.

This is more of a technical Help forum question, but I would suggest you get more memory for your computer.

I would say it's ridiculous you put down the game when it's your fault. It's normally good to actually read the tech requirements. How much RAM do you have?

My wife's computer is dual core 2.66 ghz, 4 gigs of High Speed Kingston Memory, Dual SLI 7800 GTX BFG OC'd cards (switch to single mode for performance in EQ), ASUS P5nd2 motherboard, raid 1 dual 80 gig 10k rpm raptor drives, Vista Ultimate x64 with SP1.

We disabled Symantec (all services, etc), disabled Apple/Itunes (Services), and have killed a few processes.

however, as of what appears to be because of the last / latest Patch, she experiences freezing (she calls it lag, but her computer in everquest simply locks). It locks for anywhere from 1/2 a second to up to a minute.

We know her computer itself is not locking because we are able to tab out and ctrl+alt+delete and do whatever she wants, but Everquest itself is just frozen.

Additionally, she has tried running in window mode. It freezes then too. Just to make sure it wasn't her computer freezing, we watched the clock on the taskbar (while in window mode) click away without issue, and finally opened up a few websites in the background (in window mode) to see if they kept doing their thing.

So, it is everquest and only everquest. No issues with Oblivion (Morrowind), or any other game (Including MMO: LOTRO (Lord of the Rings)).

So, why is everquest locking, or anyone have any suggestions?

Thats what happens to me AngusMcLachlan. I have it where I can still be on the internet and everything (assuming its called window mode) and the only other thing that freezes is EQ2. I've stopped getting on the internet at the same time but it still seems to do the same thing. Oh well...I don't need to be on the game that much anyways....lol
