Hey guys. New player here and one thing that is really bugging me, is that for the most part all equipment basically does the same stuff. Can we get some new tech please?

Weapons: Let's have weapons sheathed in ice, fire, acid and lightning. Add elemental damage to hits. You can do this with missle weapons as well. Add attack or defense modifiers to all weapon types. In addition, add more varieties of each weapon type with new skins.

Armors. New armor types and skins. Add different modifiers to armor. Come up with some more bonuses besides stats. Regeneration, or power renewal. Defense mods. Whatever.

More variety in other types of equipment. More bonuses as above.

Currently there is a ton of different gear, but not a lot of variety. Not much in the way of elemental damage, and about the only bonuses on items are just stat bonuses.

Thanks!

I assure you the armor gets more interesting as you level in terms of stats and modifiers.

My gear at level 80 boosts, in addition to stats and saves, Combat Art damage, power regen, health regen, has +defense, +deflection, +parry, +hate gain, +healing, reactive proc mesmerization, reactive proc damage ward, permanent water breathing, +crushing skill, +slashing skill, + critical hit chance, + double attack chance, +attack speed/haste... And some others I forget.

That, and I have a hammer that has a 50% chance to teleport me to Kunark everytime I hit something with it. Just need to get better about remembering to un-equip that once I'm there....

No offense, but if you are a new player, how can you make such a sweeping judgement on the games equipment, based on what little of it you have surely seen as a new player?
